"As described in the other reviews, well equipped and a good size house. The free range eggs being collected daily was a good bonus. Good size lake on site for fishing. Pool was good and so was the hot tub. Not a bad location, exactly what we were looking for deep in the French countryside. Philippe was very helpful, spoke good English, seen to the pool every few days and was there for any questions at their other property a few hundred metres away without being invasive at all. "Whilst this was only an overnight stay, we were so impressed that we are already planning our next trip to include the La Gambetta. Perfectly located in the centre of Bergerac, with everything you need within a very short stroll, there's not much more you could ask for. Fantastic service and attention."

"Booked a room for seven nights, but checked out after the first night. It was incredibly hot that week, around 105 degrees. The room had no air conditioning, or fans. The windows could not be open during the evening because there were no screens in the windows and with the mosquitoes and bats flying around that was not an option. It was cooler outside than in the room. When I decided to check out the following day the staff were apologetic, but there was nothing they could do. The resort, as of now has not offered a refund for the remaining six nights."

"The hotel was just as I remembered it. Beautiful rooms looking out in a courtyard that leads to a very nice swimming pool. Everything about the stay was nice except the restaurant which was very disappointing. I had remembered this from four years ago as a lovely wonderful Happy meal. This time terrible service and ridiculous pricing. They force you into tasting menus with high price and tiny portions. No flexibility. Everybody has to get the same thing. This caused great problems because one member of our family was not feeling well and couldn’t eat much. Also, the seating for the restaurant was in full sun at 8:00 PM and everybody on the patio was uncomfortable as the sun ran its way across their attempted protection of flimsy curtains. That ridiculously expensive meal was the low point of our time in France,"
