Check out the wild life, discover the rainforest, take in the sounds of nature, rest at the waterfalls, take a walk around and explore, tour the district or just sit back and relax, but whatever you do, you'll enjoy the surroundings.
Where? At Bellthorpe, in the hills, between Maleny and Woodford, Queensland. 1 1/4 hours from Brisbane in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland.
BELLTHORPE COTTAGE: Over 100 years ago, part of the property was opened up to become a dairy farm until some 25 years ago when beef cattle became the main agricultural pursuit. The remaining three quarters is natural rainforest and adjoins Bellthorpe National Park. The property is now a hide away retreat, well away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
Walking tracks on the farm will take you through the paddocks, to the creek, rainforest, waterfall, Bellthorpe National Park boundary and to glimpses of the Mary Valley. All this and you are only just over an hour from Brisbane and half an hour to Maleny.

From the awesome welcome by the owners, their information about the area and all the activities available, my stay was everything I hoped for. The accommodation was perfect, a secluded cabin for absolute privacy with all the amenities you will need for your stay. This place is a gem if you need to get away, enjoy all nature has to offer, just relax and recoup. I couldn’t recommend Belthorpe stays highly enough.
Beautiful property, surrounded by wildlife. We had an amazing time. Our dog loved the walking tracks during the day and sleeping by the fire at night. Wish we could have stayed a week. So peaceful.
Beautiful location. Lots of wildlife. Clean and comfortable cottage. Wendy and Dave were fantastic hosts and so knowledgeable about the area and wildlife. Loved our stay here. Definitely returning.
We enjoyed our stay at Bellthorpe and hope to return one day. It is quite remote from the hustle and bustle of life but that’s what we wanted. It was nice to walk around the property but watch the leeches and ticks in the rainforest area. Be aware when you book that dogs must be on leash at all times. It would have been nice to have had somewhere we could have given our dog a good run without having to go off the property, but we were aware of this before we booked, so it was not a surprise.
We thoroughly enjoyed staying in this rustic cottage in a beautiful country area. The cottage contains everything you you need with very comfy beds.
A completely rural setting with many beautiful walking tracks. Paradise for any bird enthusiast.
Thanks David and Wendy for a very enjoyable stay.
Thank you Bellthorpe Stay for putting stars in my eyes!
We were surrounded by tall trees, colourful birds and golden silence.
We enjoyed creating pottery on our private patio. Explored bush trails and soaked in all the wonder of Bellthorpe Stays.
We will visit again.
Cheers,
Nat Yates

Great place to stay to really get away from it all
We loved our cottage at Bellthorpe. It had everything we were looking for & more. The views from the verandah were spectacular. The abundant birdlife came right up to the verandah to feed from the bird feeders. The rainforest walk that led to the waterfalls was fabulous & worth the leech attack to get there & back! (no permanent damage done LOL)Especially loved lighting the fire at night & sitting back & relaxing with a wine to finish off the day. A thoroughly relaxing & enjoyable stay.

Peaceful & relaxing!
An amazing place to stay, beautiful cottage and awesome nature walks on the property! The waterfalls were nice to see. Was great to find a place that allowed my dog to stay too. Perfect. Wish we could have stayed longer but looking forward to going back!
