It's close to everything, yet offers a quiet place to unwind. The chalet's original Sunriver charm is perfect for your next getaway. It has a private hot tub & plenty of bikes for your family. It also includes 8 SHARC Recreation passes (Up to a $200 value per day). More information Sunriver rules stipulate no more than 10 people over the age of 5 stay overnight at the Balsam Chalet. DCCA#1302 The space The Balsam Chalet has original Sunriver Charm. The home is about 2,000 square feet. Please note that the sleeping loft (bedroom 4) is accessed through bedroom 3\. Guest access The Balsam Chalet has 8 access cards to all of the Sunriver Recreation opportunities including tennis courts and the Sunriver Recreation Center (SHARC). Interaction with guests As this is a vacation home, we will not be on site during your stay. Carpets and furniture are tired, but I don’t expect luxury in a rented home that allows dogs. Kitchen was stocked with EVERYTHING. In terms of appliances and tools. Particularly appreciated the generous supply of dishes and silverware so I didn’t have to run the dishwasher after every meal. Biggest downside was that WiFi was very spotty. Our teens would’ve been miserable if we hadn’t found the router, which we had to reboot every couple of hours. Nothing fancy, but necessities were met. Nice hot tub to relax in. Beds were mostly ok. Needs a good dusting, lots of cobwebs up high. The inside of the coffee pot, where you put the water was dirty, so we boiled water and poured over coffee in filter. Could use some newer cookware, but you can make do. One of the recliner chairs is broken and difficult to get out of once you open leg rest. The garage had an abundance of I assume broken washers and dryers and old pizza boxes stacked up, but it didn’t hinder our stay. The large yard was great for well behaved dogs because it’s not fenced. The water pressure was great and it was pretty clean besides the above mentioned. Very clean. The only bad thing is I don't think their oven is working right after 8 hrs. Our Thanksgiving turkey was not done. The next day we tried baking something else should have been done in an hour, 2 1/2 hrs. Later still not done. House had a great layout for a multi-generational get together. Owner was good to deal with. Some parts of house show a bit of wear, but it was clean, and I think it was to be expected as the house probably gets heavy use and was a little less expensive than some others. Grill, hot tub, and kitchen appliances worked well. Really, only had one disappointment with the house. It was advertised as having bikes available for use. Well, there were the remains of about 10 bikes in the garage, but only a couple were in any sort of working order. We ended up paying $200 to rent 5 bikes for 4 days as that was a big part of how we wanted to spend our time. (I can only imagine it is tough to keep bikes used by so many people in working order, but I probably would not advertise it). Only reason did not give five stars for overall rating was the bikes. Also, SHARC passes were included and our kids loved that. Very nice that those were included.
