My boyfriend and I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Saratoga for my birthday, expecting to enjoy the scenery and participate in local activities. Unfortunately, our experience fell short in multiple ways. Misleading Amenities & Poor Service The hotel’s website states: "The Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Saratoga Casino, and Saratoga Race Course are just over one mile from our hotel along US-9. It's two miles to Skidmore College. Many dining options can be found in a half-mile radius, and we serve cooked-to-order breakfast and dinner daily in our Garden Grille & Bar. Enjoy our free WiFi." Additionally, Expedia lists the hotel as having a rooftop garden and daily housekeeping. However, the hotel itself informed us that housekeeping is only provided every other day, contradicting the listing. Front Desk & Lack of Local Information Upon arrival, the front desk staff was standoffish and did not provide any information about local events. We later discovered from locals that there was a winter festival and a dance festival happening nearby—something that should have been mentioned to guests. False Advertising of Amenities The listing also advertised an indoor pool and outdoor fire pits, neither of which were usable. The pool had been permanently filled in with cement, with plans to turn the space into an arcade. The fire pits and garden patio area were completely neglected, buried under a foot of snow, making it nearly impossible to walk around.

I had not visited the Ponds for 30 years. It has not gracefully aged. Condo unit has not been updated since it was built in the early 70s and it shows. Drafty and slightly damaged doors, slow drains in the bathrooms, furniture and rugs that show damage and age, and a clubhouse in need of updating. Front desk staff not very friendly or useful, odd because they don’t have a lot of foot traffic this time of the season. There are other similar facilities in the area that might be worth exploring versus this tired old place.
