The town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint! At Cedar Hollow, you're in a beautiful area of the Eastern Panhandle of West Virginia, surrounded by scenic nature, historic attractions, and outdoor activities. Here are some great things to do nearby: 1\. Historic Downtown Berkeley Springs (distance from house - 5 mins): Charming and full of unique shops, art galleries, and locally-owned restaurants. It's a great place to spend a day browsing and exploring. Be sure to check out Berkeley Springs Antique Mall for unique finds and local antiques. 2\. Berkeley Springs State Park (distance from house - 5 mins): One of the most famous attractions in the area. The only reason I gave it 4 vs 5 stars was not the facility but we arrived after dark and there were no exterior lights on and it was a steep climb up to the main floor and we couldn’t see if we had an animal visiting us. Also the sliding glass doors to the porch could not be locked (a serious security issue). It seemed to lock but if you try to open it a second time it opens right up. The door was unlocked when we arrived - don’t think this is a new problem, the locking mechanism was old. As I said the cabin itself was wonderful, we all said we would gladly stay there again. I’m sure the lock will be fixed immediately. Really nice space, very cozy with great location. Very close to Cacapon State Park. Nicely appointed. Owners are extremely friendly and responsive to questions.
