Biwabik Bunkhouse near Giants' Ridge

Beautiful lake home on Embarrass Lake, 5 miles to one of the premiere ski and golf resorts in Minnesota, (the Quarry and Legend) and just over 60 miles north of Downtown Duluth. Almost 3600 square feet with nearly 200' of beautiful and sandy lake shore with a gorgeous swimming beach with two docks and a boathouse. Pontoon boat on site is available for rental, as well!

Gaze at the stars from the beautiful wrap-around deck. Spend the day relaxing in the shallow sandy water. Enjoy the evening with a bonfire on the beach shore, playing bags from the walkout basement, with tons of activities to keep the family busy: playground, dartboard, Air hockey table, Shuffleboard table, pac-man video games, pellet smoker/grill, foosball, sauna, wet bar, TV's, Internet, and too many other things to list!

Bonfires, star gazing, wildlife, 1000's of acres of public land, OHV/ATV Trails, Paved biking trails, and Giants' Ridge (skiing, snowshoeing, golf, top notch restaurant, ....) being a stones throw from the property... We truly believe there is something for everyone at this beautiful retreat.

Excellent Property and Stay

This is a wonderful place to stay with a large group of people. The house has all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. There is so much room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves. Due to the MN winter weather, we were not able to enjoy the outdoor space.

Great Skiing Get-Away

We loved this property and its location to Giants Ridge. We enjoyed quiet morning coffee by the fireplace and low key evenings in the basement. If we get the chance, we would stay again!

Fun Trip!

Cabin and property were very spacious and was very well equipped with toys/games for the whole family. Communication with Kris was fantastic and the rental of the boat was a great addition.

Holiday getaway

Worked great for our party of 10. We had so much space to be together, but also get away if we wanted to read a book. Would definitely book this again!

Great family space!

We had a great time at the Biwabik Bunkhouse! It's conveniently located with easy access to town and Giant's Ridge. The dining area is large, and we loved using the huge gated deck. The views were great, and we enjoyed using the provided kayaks. The hosts were really clear and helpful before we arrived for our stay, which was really a perk! We'd definitely stay again.

End of summer

Nice big house with amazing views. We had 16 people and never felt crammed. Plenty of fun things for the kids to do the whole time and the beach was a lot of fun for the kids. Lots of privacy and would definitely stay here again.

Visit the lakes

We attended a wedding at the near by Giants ridge. The house was beautifully situated on embarrass lake. We kayaked and enjoyed the big deck. Hiked some trails. Great place for kids and family get together. Clean and spacious.

Relaxing spot for annual Ohv trip

We had two trucks/trailers full of atv’s, the driveway is pretty steep in one spot but we hauled in and out without trouble. Great relaxing environment in the cabin, sauna gets nice and hot and the lake makes a good cold plunge. Hosts were very responsive. You’ll enjoy it.

This house worked well for our group of 9 golf buddies. Plenty of room. Close proximity to the golf courses. Kris was in constant communication to make sure we were taken care of.

A little piece of heaven

We had such a great, relaxing time! This is a great space for kids of all ages with a lot of indoor seating and activities. Outdoor activities and a beautiful lake kept all of the kids busy and happy! We highly recommend!!

Christmas at the Biwabik Bunkhouse

Beautiful spacious lake home with a fantastic view. The property location is perfect, and is exceptionally clean. This cabin has everything you need, and they layout is wonderful. We enjoyed Christmas here with our family. Everything was absolutely perfect! Thank you!

Excellent Stay

Had a wonderful family vacation. Grandkids enjoyed the play equipment and all enjoyed the lily pad. Lake was shallow and had a sandy bottom. Pontoon was great for touring the lake and anchoring near the sand bar for swimming. House was perfect for family. Little ones especially enjoyed PacMan!

Mesabi Ski Race

The trip was amazing, largely because of the amazing home we stayed in. Everything was wonderful. There are multiple spaces for kids to spend time. There are activities for them to do, and large hang out spaces including a huge dinning room table! The house is clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are big, and the linens are fresh. The host is amazing! So helpful and kind! We can't wait for next year!!

Perfect Location for Giant's Ridge!

We had a crew from a few places over Minnesota meet up for a race weekend at Giant's Ridge. We were able to all get to spend some much needed time together to catch up, all while having plenty of room for gear and being less than 10 minutes from the hill. The home was clean and Kris was so accommodating!

Family Vacay

Had a wonderful stay at this house. Lots to do inside and out, which was great because a few days the weather was not great. Ended up having a ping pong and air hockey tournament. Kids had fun fishing, swimming, and hunting for crawfish. They let us bring our dogs who also enjoyed taking evening pontoon rides and swimming. Again, this was house is amazing.

Better than expected

We used this property for a family reunion. I really want to stress that I think the home is better than the pictures, which is never expected. As every family member arrived it was awesome seeing how excited they were when they toured the house, lake and grounds. It was a special experience and now my husbands family is talking about going for a week next year. I highly recommend!

Holiday Trip

We picked this cabin as it was close to Giants Ridge and we couldn't have been happier with the location. Only about 6 minutes away from Giants Ridge. Overall House was great. The upstairs was a nice chill area by the fireplace. While downstairs was a fun hangout spot with the TV and game room along with a bar area and sauna! Overall was a great experience. Hopefully we can make it back again!

Family Fun

Great house; private location. Room for all of us; loved the individual bedroom a/c zones. Well-stocked kitchen. Indoor games, outdoor toys (kayaks, canoe, lilypad, swingset, lawn games) kept everyone entertained! Nice to have the pontoon boat available for rent also. Kris was a great host; responded to our questions/needs, made the process easy. We'd plan to come again.

Lovely layout and location, best in Summer

We stayed here with my extended family of 6 adults one baby in the later winter. Proximity to Giants Ridge and Snowmobile trails was excellent, the layout of the home was perfect for a group our size, but their isn't good climate control for a winter stay. Heated floors weren’t working, and there was no central air. Fire place added some warmth and ambiance but didn’t heat the home. I bet this place is lovely in the summer and fall, but didn’t meet the needs of.a winter stay. Our host was communicative and we got a discount off our stay, which was appreciated. Best part, huge windows overlooking the lake and a sauna.

Beautiful spot

Very enjoyable with plenty of space for the entire family. The lake is pretty shallow but very nice to use for canoes and kayaks. The game room wasn’t fun as there wasn’t a fous ball anywhere and the shuffle board had no sand. The electronic dart board also didn’t really work at all.
