I was very disappointed with my stay at Fort Young Hotel.
When I made my reservation, it clearly stated that breakfast was included. However, upon arrival, I was told that breakfast was not included. This felt like false advertising and was a very frustrating way to begin my stay.
In addition, several female staff members were rude, unhelpful, and lacked professionalism. Unfortunately, I also observed what appeared to be preferential treatment toward white guests. On one occasion, I had been waiting to be served first, yet a white couple who arrived after me was assisted before I was. Experiences like this made me feel overlooked and unwelcome.
I also noticed staff frequently speaking to one another about guests in their native language, seemingly assuming no one could understand them. Regardless of the language being spoken, this behavior is unprofessional and disrespectful.
What makes this experience even more disappointing is that my family is from Dominica. I was incredibly excited to visit my family’s homeland and looked forward to staying at Fort Young Hotel, but my experience fell far short of my expectations.
Based on my experience, I would not recommend this hotel, and I do not plan to return. I sincerely hope management takes these concerns seriously and works to improve both customer service and the overall guest experience.
