The apartment is on the upper level of the house, directly accessible from the street without stairs and includes a charming front porch (not shown in the photos). Light filled and beautifully and tastefully decorated. Bathroom has 60” clawfoot tub and Strom fittings. While the home is simple, the decor and location couldn't be beat. We walked almost everywhere - to hike (up the road) and to shop and eat - down the hill to the best area of Pearl Street (West End). It was always a treat to come home and relax. There were tenants staying below us who couldn't have been nicer. Had some trouble getting communication from the owner but we eventually connected. We stayed here for more than a month and really enjoyed being close to downtown in the lovely Mapleton Hill neighborhood. My only reason for not giving 5 stars overall is that the kitchen is not particularly well set up, without a functional set of pots and pans, no microwave, etc. It made cooking here a challenge. The lighting in the dining room and living room is exceedingly dim, so reading in the evening isn't really an option.
