"We rented the whole house and overall we had a good time, but probably wouldn’t rent here again. The house was not very clean when we got there. Luckily we brought some cleaning stuff so we cleaned it up and felt better about it. The one side had small gnat looking bugs all over the ceiling when we arrived as well as in the bathroom on side B. I assume because maybe the cleaning people or the people before us had the door open and they flew in, but it was kind of gross that the cleaning people...

"Perfect house for a group of 7 adults. Lots of comfy seating inside and out on the deck and dock. Well stocked with oil, spices, etc. Master bed was very comfortable. Other beds were OK. Dock area is small and not deep water. That didn't matter to us since we went in September. Wifi was very slow but we had 5 people trying to work so more our fault than the house. Overall, an excellent Lake Gaston rental. "

"Since 2016 I started getting my family together in December to have a Christmas gathering. We eat, play games, watch movies and so on. Well this is the second year we’ve done it at Mr. Edie’s home and it was as beautiful this time as it was the first! The pictures don’t do justice of how nice & clean the home is! I wish I had gotten more pics of the home. "

"My family stayed for Thanksgiving and we all enjoyed our time at the lake house. There was plenty of kitchen appliances and pantry space. We had all we needed to cook big meals for the 13 of us. The kids enjoyed the game table downstairs and basketball hoop. The fire pit was also a big plus. The Dollar General Market that was right down the street was very convenient for small things. "

"This property should be removed from Vrbo’s listings. As other reviews have stated, the rental is filthy, full of broken furniture/appliances, and has several unsafe areas. We spent the first day and a half of our stay, cleaning the place. It is clear that this property has not been inspected or maintained for cleanliness in a long time. This is not the result of one careless guest. This is complete neglect.The home has cobwebs, stuck on grease, dirt buildup, bugs, and mold in multiple areas. The front entrance porch is unstable, the doorknob was broken (as was the back sliding basement style door), and the kitchen and bathrooms were in unacceptable condition. The shower curtains had pink slime growing along the bottom. The sheets and mattresses were worn, stained, and covered with hair.Also, the decks and lake walk up were covered in wet leaves, uneven landings, and unstable wood planks. The listing photos are extremely misleading. There were exposed rusty nails, grime filled window sills, and garbage cans with bugs in them. The basement “bedroom” does not have an exit window, but a fake window with a towel as a curtain. I will be following up with Vrbo because no one should be staying here. This is the worst place we’ve booked. We were stuck here because there were no available bookings due to the holiday. If we were not so far from home, we would have left immediately! We have pictures and videos to validate this review. It feels like we were scammed. "

"House was wonderful, description does not do it justice. More than enough room to not be on top of each other if you have adults and kids. Communication with Adam was excellent host even with a late night call. check in a breeze welcome notebook was one of the best, thank you for explaining the remotes for the TV. AND.. labeling the light switches, no guessing!! Would definitely stay again. Thank you for sharing your home. "
