Go on a vintage electric railway ride around this hub of stores and restaurants near a yacht marina and a musical hall of fame.

While in Brighton, be sure to visit Kemptown, a bohemian and alternative district at the heart of the city’s famed progressive culture. Adorned with rainbow flags denoting its support for the LGBTQ community, the coastal zone is packed with unique stores and antiques markets. Admire the regency design of the houses lining the narrow alleys with stunning vistas of the sea.

Try your luck on the slot machines of the Admiral Casino: Brighton and the Golden Touch Amusements site. Bring your family to the colorful exhibits of SEA LIFE Brighton and observe feeding experiences with turtles and sharks.

Stroll east and stop at some of the intriguing bars and cafés. Explore the area in style with the Volk’s Electric Railway and enjoy a pleasant summer day on Brighton Beach. St. Mary’s Church is one of the religious highlights of the area, with an ornate interior and excellent acoustics.

At the eastern end of the district is the Brighton Marina, where you can view countless yachts and other boats. Visit the many stores and dine on the terrace of a restaurant with a view of the water. Notice the famous names of your favorite musicians on the plaques of the Brighton Music Walk of Fame on the Brighton Palace Pier and use an app to access their music.

Head to the zone’s northern outskirts for Queens Park. Set up a picnic near the lake, let your kids run wild in the play area and enjoy the smells of the scented garden space, while those around you play bowls or tennis.

Kemptown runs along the coast, a little east of central Brighton. It stands between the areas of The Lanes and the Brighton Marina. Arrive at the Brighton railway station and walk southeast for about 30 minutes to reach the center of the zone. Travel around the region for other nearby districts such as Seven Dials, Brunswick Town and Hove.
