When I arrived to check in, despite having prepaid for my reservation, I was informed that the room category I had booked was unavailable. Instead, I was assigned to a lower-category room, which was clearly inferior and presumably less expensive than the one I had reserved and paid for.
Although the hotel moved me to the correct room on the second night, I experienced a significant inconvenience during the first night of my stay.
As compensation, I was offered two complimentary breakfasts. While I appreciate the gesture, I do not believe it adequately compensates for the fact that the hotel was unable to provide the room category that had been confirmed and prepaid. I therefore believe that some form of reimbursement or additional compensation would be appropriate.
