Rooms were spacious and beautifully detailed. Restaurant, cafe and the Duchess (rooftop bar) were fabulous. Don’t miss the sun set and city lights from the Duchess! Staff very attentive.

Rooms and property were faultless. We had a fantastic room and excellent service. My only complaint was the cost of eating there. We would normally take breakfast in the hotel we stay in but felt that the cost was too much. We have the resources but feel it was over the top. Consequently, we neither ate nor drank in this hotel.

We had a wonderful stay at the Matild Palace. The rooms were great, the staff was very friendly and helpful, but most importantly the location was perfect for our first trip to Budapest. We were able to walk to just about everything we wanted to do during our trip. I definitely recommend staying here.

Beautiful old palace hotel brought up to date for the modern sophisticated traveller with new restaurants; Cova and Spago by Wolfgang Puck, fabulous bedrooms with exceedingly large and comfortable beds, a terrific rooftop bar that’s perfect for sunset cocktails all complimented by some of the friendliest, genuinely helpful staff my wife and I have come across in our travels. If they could only find a way to open the original front entrance with its grand staircase it would be perfect!

This is an amazing facility, elegant, centrally located to most activities, and the staff were well-trained and polite. Our experience dining at Spago was not bad, but it was clearly overpriced for what we were served, despite being on the Michelin list. Breakfast was phenomenal, with so much variety. The room was very spacious and well-appointed, and what a wonderful experience to have such a nice bathroom with spacious, high-end showers!!! Kudos to Matild, I would strongly recommend this one for those willing to indulge while visiting Budapest.
