A jaw-dropping coastline, rugged mountain landscapes and an exciting range of exotic marine life lure vacationers to Cabo Pulmo. This laid-back village is the main tourist hub for Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, a 17,570-acre (7,111-hectare) protected reserve and the only living coral reef in the Sea of Cortez. Gear up for memorable diving, snorkeling, kayaking and hiking adventures in Cabo Pulmo.
Book tours and rent watersports equipment from the many dive shops that line the streets of Cabo Pulmo. Boats depart from the village beach on daytrips and multi-day, live-aboard diving excursions. Stroll along the seashore, plunge into the enticing turquoise water and visit a shipwreck.
To the south of the village is Los Arbolitos Beach, which is one of the most popular snorkeling locations in the reserve. The Cabo Pulmo Reef lies just off the shoreline. Marvel at the clear water and pristine and colorful coral. Spot dolphins, sea turtles, manta rays, whale sharks and innumerable fish species.
Relax on the golden sand of the coastline and enjoy views of the Sierra de la Laguna mountain range. Walk over a cliff to the secluded Sirenas Beach. Hundreds of spherical boulders, shaped over thousands of years by tides, frame the beach. A sea lion colony thrives close to here and these creatures can often be seen basking on the rocks.
Los Frailes Beach marks the southernmost point of the reserve. Rent a kayak and paddle out to see the sea lion colony from the water. A track leads from the beach to a hilltop with panoramic views of the coast and mountains.
Located on the East Cape of Baja California Sur, Cabo Pulmo is a 90-minute drive from Los Cabos International Airport. Stay at the hotels in the village or camp at designated beach campsites.
