It was great except pillows were not comfortable too hard ,
And the bed mattress was not 1 peace it was attached in the middle .
Everything else was great and we had a great stay there and definitely we will come back and also recommend it to our friends .
The room was excellent and the bathroom had plenty of room. Even the restaurant and food was good, it was probably one of the best hotels stays we have had, especially with the reception staff being so friendly and helpful.
Great customer service, clean and comfortable and in a great location within Caernarfon. The food in the hotel was also excellent and they had a great range of drinks
Hotel and staff were great. Very warm welcome at check-in, room was clean but quite warm and stuffy.
Sadly the food in the restaurant whilst only pub food was quite expensive and extremely poor quality.
We would definitely stay at the hotel again but would eat elsewhere.
Staff very helpful and professional . breakfast superb . Extra staff needed at bar at peak times . Room could been cleaned more thoroughly eg shades on bedside tables very dusty and fan was quite dusty too . Overall though we had a lovely stay . Will be recommending to friends snd family .
This was our first visit to The Black Boy Inn and we absolutely loved it! We chose the 4 poster room, which was stunning, the bed was super comfy, the bed was huge and bedding soft and fresh. The bathroom was clean and fresh with lovely soft towels. The staff were so polite and helpful, the restaurant served lovely food, great portion sizes, arrived promptly and was very reasonably priced. Breakfast was cooked fresh to order and the range of cereal and fruits was brilliant. Lots of little bars and restaurants locally, supermarket was a walkable distance for anything needed. I wouldn’t stay any where else if we ever return to this part of Wales. Absolutely brilliant all round.
Everything you need all in one place, the staff were very professional and nothing was too much trouble ,would definitely stay again.

A great Inn, the room was clean and the bathroom spotless.
The room was clean and the bed was comfy but very noisy from outside . Seagulls, children’s play area, early morning deliveries. The food was awful, undercooked chips with a shepherds pie thing and peas that had seen better days. We had a meal deal so after being forgotten about and waited for a long time, I asked about the desserts. They were no better and I couldn’t eat it. So we didn’t eat here again. Food and drink cheaper and better at other places. If you want a quiet stay without carb on carb fare then don’t bother with staying here.
Beautiful older hotel. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Rooms were clean and well-maintained. They have done a fantastic job of ensuring that people who have accessibility needs have options, but that the historic charm is also maintained. Very good food, served in a beautiful historic setting!
We had a nice spacious room, if on the top floor of the nearby Ty Dre Town House. It was very quiet and we slept well in the very big and comfortable bed. The reception staff were very polite and helpful.
We only stopped two nights but ate, both nights, in the Black Boy. It had a good range of meals of locally sourced ingredients. Between us, we tried four, all delicious, possibly more generous helpings than we needed!
I also found a very nice local real ale pint ~ so good, I managed 3 each night!
Good - historic, decor, furniture, bathroom, location. Bad - no conditioner, no room phone, dirty bath towel…I asked when we got there about where to park and the gentleman said he didn’t know, he lived in Bangor; so I ended up waking up at 7:30am on my vacation to move my car. When I went to reception again at that time I asked another staff member, he said he doesn’t know, he wasn’t allowed to deal with that, but the receptionist would be in soon. I waited a while…she walked passed me twice, but eventually I asked when she got yo the desk, where I should park; she asked if I was staying another night, I replied no, she replied that she wasn’t going to give me a complimentary parking pass that they have for guests; I’d have to just pay for parking where I currently was.
