“Beautiful position , very friendly staff - we had a gorgeous room”

“La maison et son jardin sont laissés à l’abandon. Chaleur torride sans climatisation, restaurant à l’autre bout du village, parking pour Van: acrobatique. Rester la bas 1 semaine était inenvisageable dans ces conditions. Nous avons fui des le lendemain matin.”

“Hotel Moderne is an elegant gem in the busy centre of Porto-Vecchio. Arrival and departure were very easy -- we communicated via Expedia/WhatsApp beforehand, and Joana sent clear instructions for driving to the drop-off spot directly in front of the hotel, and for the private gated parking a 5-minute stroll away, which even had a charging point for our electric car -- so convenient (don't forget to reserve in advance)! Reception was also able to arrange a last-minute taxi/driver for us to go to……

“Very welcoming and friendly staff. Clean and well maintained property. Lots of attention to detail. Our car was washed and vacumed just before departure! Beautiful rooms overlooking the sea. Private beach area with plenty of sun loungers. Small but nice rooftop swimming pool. Breakfast looked adequate but limited for the high price of 32€ pp. The dinner restaurant next door was a perfect setting and the food was nice, but for 160€ for two for a modest meal, it was expensive. Double the price of……

“Owner was arrogant . We arrived at 2:45pm and check in was at 4pm . Instead of saying sorry I would love to accommodate you , he smirked and said well your early and check in is at 4pm. Our booking agency’s site indicated a heated pool , when we got there there was no pool. We asked if we could check out earlier because of that error and it was a NO. Called our booking company and said it’s up to the owner to refund and it was a NO. As well this is a B&B at 100€ per night. No breakfast included……

“We never did stay in the hotel because when we arrived it was closed for renovations. We were given no notice before we arrived.”
