Tiberias Old City offers adventures galore, but don't restrict yourself to just one place. Grab a set of wheels and take to the road to see what's in the surrounding region. Here are a few ideas:

• You'll discover Gordon Beach and loads more interesting sights in Tel Aviv. From Tiberias Old City, it's roughly 65 miles away.
• Roughly 70 miles away, Jerusalem is also a hit with travelers. Allow time to check out Western Wall while you're in town. It's one of the reasons people love staying a while in this buzzing city.
• Ben-Gurion's Tomb is about 140 miles from Tiberias Old City and is one of the region's most scenic nature spots. Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy the fresh air here.

If you don't possess a driver's license issued in Israel, then you'll likely need to acquire an International Driving Permit (IDP) in your home country in order to rent a car. Also consider that if you do need an IDP, it won't be valid on its own. You'll be asked to show your current license your passport and other forms of identification as well. Lastly, make sure the credit card used to book the rental vehicle matches the name on your driver's license and passport. A few other things to note for international car rentals are:
