Haga clic en el icono de vídeo en la parte superior izquierda. Carmel Highlands se encuentra a 5 minutos del centro de Carmel. Pebble Beach y el acuario están a 15 minutos. A principios de 1900, Carmel era en gran medida una comunidad de artistas. Muchos artistas lucharon, los exitosos vivieron en las Tierras Altas. Very nicely set up with interesting articles of decor and pictures everywhere. However, on the practical side, when we arrived (April) the house was very cold and did not get warm for another 24 hours, really uncomfortable. My biggest complaint is that there were no window coverings on the 6 windows in the master bedroom! Resulting in us being awakened by the light coming in at 5:30 - 6 a.m. for the 4 mornings we were there. I actually left feeling more tired for lack of sleep, than when we arrived. Whoever cleaned the house did not do a good job. Quite a few cobwebs and dust. Counter in the kitchen was sticky. The placemats for kitchen use were not clean at all, some food sticking on to them from previous renters. The coffee grinder that was supposed to be in the kitchen never did show up. Our 4 coffee drinkers were not happy. Heads up if staying in the area next year, check dates for the Big Sur marathon. This year it took place last weekend of April. Unfortunately for us a brass band, supporters and food tables were all set up right outside the house. Band started playing at 7:30 a.m. The really bad part was, we could not get out of the house until noon. Road was closed to traffic. We had planned to attend the11:00 a.m. services at Carmel Mission, but were stuck at the house until all of the participants came through. As I said, very mixed experience. If I thought the house would be cleaner, warmer and definitely have window coverings I would go back, but the manager needs to do a much better job of making sure everything is as it should be. ##### Marcella M. Location was easy to find and convenient to Carmel and Monterey, also easy access to run down to Big Sur. We used the kitchen and outdoor grill one night and everything was provided to make a large group meal. Internet access is sometimes spotty but overall consistent and you will need it as cell service can be limited. House and furniture are bit dated but overall comfortable, warm and inviting. When searching for accommodations for my family, it was a bit of a challenge. With 3 generations staying under one roof, I wanted to make sure each family had their own space while also having large enough common areas to allow everyone to spend quality time together. My elderly parents had their own room with plenty of space for them to escape from the noise & ruckus of the little ones when they needed to rest. My brother’s family stayed in the room with the smaller downstairs room off of it - perfect for a family with two little ones. My sister & 18-month-old nephew had their own room. And, my family & I were upstairs, with my two teenagers. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect house for all of us to stay in! The weather was a bit chilly & overcast with a thick marine layer for the entire 4 days we were in Carmel. But, it wasn’t so bad that we couldn’t get out & about. The Villa is so close to everything. On one of the days, we went to Sunday Mass at the mission & explored the town. On another day, we went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium & meandered about Cannery Row. There was/is just so much to do in the area! (BTW… The antique stores are awesome!) It was nice to come back to a space that allowed everyone to unwind & not be on top of each other. The jacuzzi broke down before we got there & wouldn’t be fixed until after our trip, so we couldn’t soak after the long days of walking. John let us know ahead of time. However, it would’ve been nice to hop into the jacuzzi after all the little ones were in bed each night with some wine or cocktails. Nonetheless, all the other great aspects of the house made up for it! The Villa marries the charms of an older property with all the modern amenities we’re used to. The TV’s have all the essential streaming services and the WiFi was a must for the teenagers (& the hubs who was still semi-working during our trip). Everything was exactly as described and was perfect for our family’s needs. My family is talking about making this a yearly trip since we all had such a wonderful time! On arrival no WiFi but fixed next day. Fridge not cleaned - filled with used condiments. Stove not cleaned. Gas barbecue not cleaned. Minimal gas supplied ( 2 gas bottles. One empty and one 1/4 full - ran out! ) Dish washer did not satisfactorily clean crockery and cutlery. Hot tub jets did not work. Highway one significant delays due to roadworks. The property is amazing, unlike any vacation rental I have experienced with tremendous furnishings in the home and throughout the property. The yard was beautifully landscaped and a great place for the children to play. We enjoyed day trips to Big Sur, the aquarium, and local beaches. Point Lobos park is fabulous for hiking and observing sea mammals. We did not run out of things to experience and all agreed a return trip may be in order. ##### Ben W. The house suited our needs perfectly. We enjoyed relaxing on the deck and using the hot tub. We were also able to use the picnic table for a large family style dinner. The home is large so it was a little spooky the first night with my just my husband and myself but it was well lit and we quickly settled in. Once everyone else arrived, I was thankful for all the space and each room was set up in a B&B manner with it's own private entrance, bathrooms and amenities which was really convenient and nice. During the day is when the property really shines. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and great for exploring. We had a great time playing badminton and volleyball with the net onsite. We even found a path down to the beach right outside the property which was breathtaking. John and his wife were kind enough to meet us during check in to welcome us and then stopped by the next morning to make sure we had enough propane since they knew we were having a bbq that afternoon. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting with a large group! ##### Grace H. The characteristics of this home were simply unbeatable. It had plenty of room for our entire party and the grounds and view of the ocean are beautiful. We couldn’t stop taking pictures, and we still didn’t get to cover all the picture perfect spots! Our kids had a great time playing outside .. so much space for them to run around! We are a party of nine, ranging in age from 7 to 67\. The villa had something for all of us, and there was plenty of room. It’s a great house to play hide and seek, and a fabulous place to relax and take in the views. My grandchildren felt like they’d entered “The Lion, Witch, Wardrobe” novel. The property is beautiful and conveniently located. We spent lots of time on the deck and in yard. The ocean view is a small slice, but still enjoyable. The house itself is nicely renovated and very quaint. The big fireplace was a regular gathering place and we cooked a great dinner one night. There were a few minor issues, but the owner was responsive and none of them interfered with overall enjoyment. Like most places, if you are expecting fancy hotel type accommodations, you should stay at a fancy hotel, if you want a nice, rustic Carmel style place, this is a great choice. ##### Gregory T. My family (13 of us) stayed in John's lovely home while in Carmel for a wedding. The house was clean and beautiful on a large lot with lots of room for the kids to run around. The home is centrally located with a grocery store and Starbucks only minutes away, however we felt like we were in a secluded private area.
