"I upgraded myself because I had points with Expedia so I did go for a cottage this time and it was excellent other than not having any Internet access because the router was down, but there was a nearby kitchen to cook which I could get Wi-Fi but not during the night on I typically like to watch my show and fall asleep. Other than that it was very clean reception. D was so kind and accommodating. I would definitely stay there again."

How can I get cheap hotels in Carnarvon?

Best tips to find a cheap hotel in Carnarvon

  1. If you're looking to travel to Carnarvon on a budget, you'll be happy to know that you can find hotels for as low as $89. Of course, that price is affected by amenities, star rating, and even the time of year you visit. At most, hotel prices can be as high as $168. Staying a short amount of time in Carnarvon is an effective way to reduce hotel costs.

  2. When you cut your vacation down to just a few days, you don't have to worry as much about hotel prices since you don't have that many nights to stay. For budget hotels in Carnarvon, 3 to 4 days should be all the nights you need. That's generally enough to enjoy the city's top attractions, though there's certainly enough to do to warrant a week-long trip.

  3. When booking cheap hotel rooms in Carnarvon, it's typically best to book about 3 weeks in advance. Book further in advance than that and you could be paying too much for your room, as hotels will often overestimate future demand. However, if you wait too long, you might find that the hotel has been completely booked.

  4. When you utilize search filters on Expedia, you'll be able to narrow down your results in a flash. These search filters cover a wide variety of factors you may be interested in when it comes to finding a cheap hotel in Carnarvon, including amenities such as Free Breakfast, 2-star rating, or proximity to local attractions. You can even set filters for price limits to ensure that all the displayed results are within your budget.

Solo travellers will find a selection of motels and guesthouses along Robinson Street, often within walking distance of the One Mile Jetty and the Fascine, a popular spot for leisurely strolls and picnics. The central location also makes it easy to access public transport for exploring further afield or cycling along the foreshore.

Couples looking for value might consider options slightly off the main thoroughfare but still within easy reach of the town centre. These establishments often provide a quieter atmosphere while remaining close to dining options and the vibrant Saturday markets.
When is the most affordable time to visit Carnarvon?
The most affordable time to visit Carnarvon is during its low season, typically from November to March, which coincides with the warmer summer months. During this period, you'll find lower prices on accommodations and potentially better deals on activities, as it's outside the peak tourist season.

For solo travellers, this translates to more budget-friendly hostel stays or motel rooms, allowing for greater flexibility in your travel budget. The reduced crowds also mean a more relaxed experience at popular spots like the One Mile Jetty or the Fascine. While some outdoor activities might be less comfortable due to the heat, the lower prices make it an attractive option for those prioritizing savings.

Families might find the shoulder seasons, April-May and September-October, to be a good compromise. While not as cheap as the peak summer, prices are still more reasonable than the high season, and the weather is generally more pleasant for exploring attractions like the Carnarvon Space and Technology Museum or the Gascoyne Food Trail.
