Helen and Claire made me welcome and went above and beyond, recommending walks and providing me with everyhing to make the most of a short stay. I would highly recommend this cottage and location. A short walk into town, but in the country, surrounded by birdsong and views, with great walks in your door step."

"This was our first time staying here and it certainly won't be our last. The shepherd's hut is beautifully decorated and has such a cosy and comfortable feel to it. The under floor heating kept it lovely and warm too despite the snow outside (which also made it super pretty). The outside space was so private and had a fantastic view over the fields and to the hills beyond. Our favourite thing was sitting out at night by the fire pit and relaxing, looking up at the stars. "Hotel was just ok, but they had an open fire in the reception area, which basically smelled the whole of the hotel out, and our clothes still smell of it. Had to leave the bedroom window open all night to let fresh air in, even though my wife was cold. On the plus side I would definitely go back to Llangollen it was lovely, but would not stay at this hotel."

"This is an old castle so dont expect luxury. The room i was in was dared and lazy but the small nuce but very small. Gym was ok but dated Grounds were fantastic and good parking They had hot tubs but you have to book. Evenn meal was just ok but not alot of choice and expensive but the restaurant was not great to eat in. Breakfast was awfull and ants on my table. I did report this. Id not fo back "

"Overall the hotel is great but going back and forth to Wrexham station and Wrexham fc we ran up a £50 in taxi costs over 24hours . Excellent taxi company at general station. General areas of hotel superb having recently been renovated . Rooms adequate but not very good bathroom where was tight for room but also no cold water through the taps (?) . Maybe it was just our room ? "
