This property is out of Panama City a ways but I wanted to be closer to the birding areas in the area. The hotel was likely a jewel in its day but the years are showing. The AC seems to be uncontrolled as other reviewers have noted. In my room, although I could set the temperature it just got colder & colder without regard to the thermostat setting so I had to turn it on and off manually. I got upgraded to a balcony room & there was rust all over the railings, worse one almost needed to be Hercules to open & close the "sliding" door. The 3 pools looked fine but I didn't use them. Breakfast was full buffet style with lots of choices and the restaurant had good offerings as well. Being a golf facility too I had hoped to find a lot of birds around, but alas, that was definitely not the case. There were some but nothing like what I had expected being surrounded by rainforest.

It was very unique. I highly recommend it. Some suggestions to make it more unique include: allowing us to charge phones in our rooms; make it more eco friendly by having people fill up water bottles from a main dispenser rather than small single use bottles. We liked the fact that the kayaks and snorkels were included. More local food choices on the menu.

I really enjoyed our stay! The hotel, room, and views were beautiful. The breakfast buffet options were delicious - a mixture of American and local Panamanian foods. We also ate at the restaurant beside the pool the first day and that was great as well. Location was very accessible to uber to everything we wanted within a 5-15 min drive. The only thing that could have been better was the smell in some areas. While the lobby smelled amazing, as we got off the elevator onto our hallway, it smelled a little bit odd. And our room itself had a faint mildew smell. Nothing overpowering to the point of needing to leave but for it to have smelled so great downstairs, we wished they put the same effort into the rest of the building, esp. carpeted areas.
