Exclusive villa above Taormina with pool and views of Etna and the sea

* In 2022/2023 the villa was tastefully renovated and furnished to a high standard *

The terraced Villa Bougainvillea is located in a spacious, exclusive ground on a steep south-facing slope. Inside the fenced 3000 sqm property there is parking space for two cars. Outside, on the street, is enough space for further cars.

The Villa comprises three levels: the main house and two apartment levels. You have the possibility to rent the Villa for 4, 6 or 8 people (9 upon request). Even renting the Villa for fewer people, you rent the Villa exclusively. The perfect privacy is guaranted.

In the main house there are two bedrooms with king-size beds, individual bathrooms, a spacious living room, a guest toilet, a fully equipped new kitchen, the dining room, a shady patio and the panoramic terrace. A new staircase into the garden was built 2023. From the panoramic terrace you can enjoy a stunning view of the Mediterranean sea, the bay of Naxos and Mt. Etna. The evening offers a fascinating panorama of lights.

On the middle-level and pool-level are two beautiful apartments with 2 double beds, individual bathrooms and small living rooms. Access to the apartments is either by the central or by the side open stairs.

Baby travel beds and baby equipment can be set up on request. We want you to travel lightly!
All rooms have air conditioning.
We use bed linen and towels made from 100% organic cotton.

The pool (~11.5 x 4,5 m) is located on the lowest level and is well protected from prying eyes due to its location.

A car is recommanded but not a necessity, public transportation is available in close proximity and you can walk down the breathtaking Madonna della Rocca path to Taormina and get back up by bus or Taxi (15-20 Euro one way for a Taxi).

The exceptional architectural concept of the Villa is designed for 6 to 8 people, offers lots of possibilities for privacy or to enjoy time in company. Ideal for friends, couples, families with children or extended families.

Great escape to Taormina
We just left after a week in Villa Bougainvillea and it could not have been more perfect. Daniela, Raphael, and Silvana were amazing hosts and considered every detail with this house as a rental property. The views, pool, and lounge areas are all incredible and the beds were comfortable. Thank you for the in-house chef recommendation for Fabio at Private Chef Catania. Can’t wait to come back for our next visit!

Amazing views, gorgeous home!
This home was all it was advertised as and more! The kitchen is top-notch, designer stove, with all the amenities; the bathrooms are beautiful and tasteful and huge (from a NYC perspective!). We loved being able to have our young adults in their own space where they could watch movies without disturbing us at night - so much more peaceful and relaxing for everyone! And the garden! And the views! Don’t get me started! What a treat! The only “down” side is that I thought it would be more “walkable” but because of the steep inclines in both directions we ended up only walking into Taormina once and driving to Castelmola. But a more ambitious hiking family could easily do both (and our boys did walk back from Taormina in 20 min). The housekeeper was a pleasure and very helpful. I am so grateful we had this experience!

The house is really beautiful -- living room looks like a magazine. Beautiful interior design throughout. View from patio and (upper rooms) is spectacular. Kitchen is excellent and owners left lots of consumables (e.g. spices, coffee, a bottle of wine, pasta, etc.) so you can delay your first trip to the store. Excellent quiet location on a small side street. Prepare for vertical living: 15-20 minute steep walk up to Castelmola (super charming little town), 15-20 minute steep walk down to Taormina proper (super charming medium-sized town). But the views and the exercise were wonderful. Tons of day activities in and around the area (including the entire east coast of Sicily). Silvana, the host, was "next level" friendly/helpful. The place is a gem.

Came with 8 adult family members and SOs, had a great time. Property was recently remodeled and is gorgeous with a real local flavor. Clean, elegant and user friendly. Property manager very accessible to help with tips and needs. Pictures do not do it justice. Beware, everything's on a hill in Taormina, including the villa, bring your best billy goat and have fun!

Best Vacation EVER!
From beginning to end, our experience with this stay was perfection! Daniela was extremely helpful, thoughtful, and kind. She communicated with me regularly before, during, and after our stay. Any and all questions I had were answered quickly by her or Silvana (the sweetest house manager EVER!) From the minute we set foot on the property, we were informed, greeted and treated like family. We traveled with two toddlers (2 and 3yo) and it felt like Daniela completely read my mind all on fronts. Only another mother can understand the challenges you face when traveling with such small children. She made sure toys, chairs, dishes, cribs etc were all ready for my kids before we arrived. The villa was so well equipped with everything you could possibly need! The new renovations were exquisite and it felt like we were staying in a five star hotel! It was so incredibly well kept and clean. The LARGE pool was perfect for a hot Sicilian summer! We enjoyed it every single day and there were even floaties and toys available that worked perfectly for us! We brought a friend who had privacy in her own apartment which was very spacious as well. Waking up every morning to the MOST incredible views of the Sea and Mt Etna felt like a DREAM! We spent most days enjoying the villa with our family but also took short trips up to Castelmola (adorable playground there for kids) and we also were down below in Taormina. (gorgeous) We hope to visit again in the future! Thank you Daniela!

Villa Bougainvillea - July 2023
Wow! I cannot over-emphasize how wonderful our stay at the Villa was! The house itself is gorgeous, so well equipped, and wonderful w/ great A/C and fabulous pool considering we were there during the most intense heat wave! Daniella and Raphael were wonderful hosts, and Silvana was so welcoming and attentive, she was the epitome of Italian hospitality! If there was anything we needed she and Daniella were quick to respond and attend to any questions, including making dinner reservations and even welcoming us w/ lovely Sicilian gifts such as marmalade and Prosecco. I cannot recommend Villa Bougainvillea highly enough, it was the most wonderful part of our 2 weeks in Italy!

A great week at the property started with a friendly welcome by the caretaker who provided information on the property and the surrounding area. She was readily available throughout the week to answer any queries. The layout of the house was perfect for a group of six: couples had bedrooms with private baths which was the same for the singles in the group. Although we most often ate out, the kitchen was well stocked to feed a group much larger than ours. The best feature for me was the outdoor terrace overlooking the sea and Mount Etna. From early morning through the night the views were spectacular and became our group's main meeting point. Getting about was easy. Depending on the destination, we walked, took the bus, or drove. I would highly recommend the this property.

Gorgeous Villa with Amazing View
This villa is the perfect location for exploring and experiencing Sicily. We loved it! Silvy, the property manager is a gem! She was SO helpful and just couldn't be any nicer! We would highly recommend this villa. One note...if you plan to go into Taormina, TAKE A TAXI...parking is impossible! Also, make sure to eat at Le Tre Vie...everything is awesome!

Wonderful Villa between Taormina and Castelmola
This villa is simply stunning. The views are unbelievable. The pool is huge and well maintained. There is plenty of space for a large number of people. The villa itself is well kept and has everything you could need. Location is great. We had a car but walked up to Castelmola and down to Taormina. The walk up to Castelmola is steep but relatively short and well worth it. There is also an hourly bus that runs from Taormina bus stop up to Castelmola which stops at the end of the road. Silvana was fantastic with us and was more than happy to help us with any questions we had via Whatsapp. I would definitely stay here again.

A wonderful holiday villa
Spacious and well laid out with 4 huge bedrooms each with a bathroom, a generous living space and well equipped kitchen. The highlights were the breathtaking views from the terrace and the well maintained pool and beautiful gardens. Silvana was absolutely amazing. She made sure everything was provided and was always available, helpful and a total pleasure to deal with. We were unfortunately involved in a car accident and Silvana gave up so much of her personal time to help us with paperwork etc. Her support and friendship were exceptional - we are so grateful she was there.

Villa with a magnificent and unforgettable view!
Upon arrival Sylvana met us with delicious local delicacies and a bottle of Prosecco. Giorgio was very helpful in communicating to us directions to the villa and getting around Taormina. We could’ve stayed another week. The villa was very comfortable, very nice decor, beautiful gardens, and well equipped kitchen. We took advantage of the opportunity to have Alfia prepare a Sicilian dinner. It was delicious. Thank you Giorgio for a memorable vacation for us, our children, and grandchildren.

Views are amazing
The villa is quite a distance from both towns, and although you can walk to both villages it is very steep climb to Castelmola and if going by taxi 25 euro or if going to Taormina it is a long way down and once again 25 euros either way. We were a family of 8 all adults, so the arrival on a Sunday meant ALL supermarkets were closed and this was not clearly explained to me in emails. So if booking and arriving on s Sunday get Silvana the property manager to arrange for food to be here, a welcome bottle of Prosecco really is not good enough, as this Villa is very remote. The layout of the Villa is good with separate bedrooms and separate entrances in 2 of theses. The bedding linen needs to be updated as sheets were very old and quite worn out, as were towels etc. Overall a great family holiday, but the description of the property is very misleading as Villa and the surrounding grounds are not what is described, gardens are overgrown and pool lounges old and damaged etc

Beautiful location, everything you need for a relaxing holiday.
We stayed for 2 weeks at the end of August. The villa is located halfway up the mountain between Taormina and Castelmola and has wonderful views over the coast and Etna. We spent many hours just gazing at it from the terrace or pool. It is possible to walk down to Taormina or up to Castelmola, both of which have many many restaurants, but this is heavy going in high summer. We found the local bus service to be reliable and very useful. The kitchen is well equipped, and the air conditioning is effective if the heat is too much. Sylvana is a very professional housekeeper with excellent English who can attend to all your needs. My only recommendation would be to update the bathrooms- there is nothing wrong with the current ones which are clean and work, but they do look dated.

Superbe villa très bien équipée et avec vue exceptionnelle
Cette villa est placée sur une colline dont la vue est époustouflante, mer, montagnes, Etna, dans un cadre fleuri et vert. A l'arrivée l'accueil est remarquable par Silvana qui offre conseils et indications utiles. La maison est équipée de toute ce qui est nécessaire, Elle a été récemment refaite et est donc impeccable. La piscine est 100% privée et de très bonne taille. Le quartier est plein de belles villes, compte-tenu de la géographie des lieux (Taormina est sur des falaises très hautes), nous recommandons une petite voiture car les routes sont sinueuses et les croisements avec d'autres voitures sont fréquents. Nous avons beaucoup marche pour aller a Taormina par de nombreux escaliers ou a Castel Mola au dessus qui vaut très largement le déplacement. Un séjour très agréable que nous recommandons.

Beautiful house with the best view!
We are a family of 5, 2 parents and 3 teenagers. We had a wonderful week in this beautiful house. The house is recently modernized and fully equipped, it surpassed all our expectations. The house has an amazing view from the terrace over the Sea and over the Etna. Silvy who welcomed us at the house helped us with everything, even printed our tickets for the ferry back to the main land. We really hope to come back!

If you consider renting Villa Bougainvillea - just do it!
We are a family of 2 seniors, 4 adults and 2 children that rented the villa 14 days during early July. At arrival we discovered that the villa had been totally renovated and everything was new, fresh and stylish (kitchen, bathrooms, air-condition etc.) The location is just perfect. It is located on the hillside just below Castelmola. The view is outstanding. You see the bay of Naxos and all the way to Catania but also the top of Etna. During our stay parents and children used the two large bedrooms in the main upper floor. Two adults stayed in in middle section and the seniors choose the bottom section. We all enjoyed the large renovated swimming pool that was cleaned twice a week. Around the house the are a lot of flowers and fruit trees. The children loved to make their own lemon juice. We did not rent a car. Instead we used taxi, bus and our legs. Walking up to Castelmola takes 10-15 min, and down to Taormina about 15 min easy walk. We bought a Hop on Hop off 35€ 7 days ticket to use local blue busses and red busses to explore the area. When dining in Castelmola, some walked up while the others took the bus. We all walked down home. Similar we walked down to Taormina and returned by bus. When shopping groceries we took the taxi and paid 20€. During the stay we got excellent support from local host Silvana and owners Daniela & Raphael who did their outmost for us to have a perfect holiday. If you rent this villa, take good care of it, as we will return soon.

Zeer riante villa met ongelofelijk mooi uitzicht!
De unieke ligging met uitzonderlijk mooi uitzicht geeft deze fantastische villa een echt vakantiegevoel. Ontbijten met zicht op een (rokende) vulkaan is onvergetelijk!
