Our stay was good. Didn't expect the hold fee. The highlight was the infused water!!!! Soooo refreshing coming in from DC heat.

Love the little kitchens in each room and very friendly staff. On-site valet parking is convenient. Matera Restaurant for dinner and breakfast is good.

The man at the front desk, Mark, had absolutely no customer-service skills. When we arrived to check in, he was extremely rude. As soon as we approached the counter, he said, in a very unpleasant tone, “We don’t have any rooms.” We explained that we already had a reservation, and he told us, “Come back after one, but it is not guaranteed that it will be available.” We came back at 1:00 p.m. There was a sign stating “Early Check-In Fee: $35.” I have stayed at many hotels and had never encountered this before. We waited in line and explained that he had told us to come back at 1:00.He said, “Yes, it is available, and I will charge $35 to your credit card.” We said, “Oh, you didn’t tell us that before. We didn’t know.” His response was: “Well, now you know.” How rude!!! But that wasn’t even the worst part. I had booked a Deluxe Double Queen room for three people. Instead, we were given a room with only one bed. Because I had booked through Expedia, I had to deal with them directly to try to resolve the problem. I have made reservations through Expedia for years, and I have never experienced anything like this before. The problem is the hotel bad service. We were stuck there because It was past midnight and were tired. Next morning I explained what happened, the answer was “it is the same price for two or three people, so it doesn’t matter”. They didn’t give us a partial refund and not even an “I am sorry”. Not enough space to keep writing this review. Do not book here.

One of the best hotel experiences as a family. We stayed for two nights. The staff - from the front desk to the valet to the servers in the restaurant- we’re all courteous and attentive. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was excellent. The only thing that would have made the room more comfortable was if the A/C unit wasn’t placed right above our beds. The noise and direct wind (in “circulation” mode) made it not ideal. But not a big deal. We would stay here again if we return to DC.

Everything was excellent with our stay at Hotel Burg, the staff was helpful and attentive, the room was clean and well furnished, the lounge and roof top bar had a great ambiance and excellent menu. We are excited to return again!
