American Airlines should institute free 1st checked bagged policy, this would make the company more competitive and customers would greatly appreciate suggested policy

I am a military spouse. We asked about having one checked bag for free. The first staff emended st the kiosk said it wouldn’t be a problem just go to the ticket counter. At the ticket counter, the attendant was a bit abrupt and said no. It would be nice if one bag could be included for a military spouse even if they aren’t able to fly with the active duty member. Thank you so much, Anne Marie
