Depending on where you’re coming from, your flight to Río Bravo could be as easy as pie or it could drag on forever. We’ve put together some tips that will help you start your next big adventure on a positive note. What to pack in your hand luggage:
- First and foremost, put in your passport, official ID, wallet and vital medications. Next, you’ll want some in-flight entertainment to while away the hours. A juicy book and a tablet filled with your favorite shows are good options. If you hope to take a quick snooze, a quality neck pillow and a pair of noise-canceling headphones will also be useful. Finally, leave some space for a few toiletry items to ensure you hop off the plane looking fresh and ready to go.
Do not pack the following items in your hand luggage:
- Leave all your full-sized bottles of hair gel and hairspray in your checked baggage. Any liquids in your carry-on suitcase larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters) will be confiscated by security. Sharp objects, like your Swiss Army knife, and products which are flammable or explosive, such as flares, chemicals agents and matches, are also banned.
What to wear on a flight:
- Comfort should always be the goal when choosing what to wear on board. Consider your choice of footwear carefully too, as swelling of the feet and ankles can be a side effect of flying. Slightly roomy, flat shoes work well.
- The condition known as DVT (deep vein thrombosis) can pose a risk on long-distance flights. It’s the result of blood clotting due to poor circulation and inactivity. Doing regular leg and foot exercises in your seat helps to prevent this from occurring. Wearing a good pair of compression tights or socks is also a wise idea.
