During our stay (6 days) in Birmingham, the weather was freezing, around 0 degree and minor in evening time. However, the heating system of the Hotel was down for 4 days. When we reported to the reception, they had promised to follow but in vain. Then, different reception staff told us different reasons why their heating system was down. It is quite unacceptable. Fortunately, in the last 2 days, one of the night staff provided a portable heater to us. No apology was received from the hotel so far when we asked the update of the maintenance at the front desk. It seems the heating problem is a normal situation of the hotel. We are very disappointed of their service and follow up manner.

Bra beliggenhet, veldig stille , super parkering , greit rom og enkel bra frokost . Hyggelig vertskap - trenger ny kaffemaskin, fylle på vann når alle kommer på likt holder ikke .

Beautiful hotel in an excellent setting. The staff were exceptionally helpful. However, the room (room 24) was rather small, especially the bathroom, and the lighting was terrible creating deep shadows. The food in restaurant was very good, enjoyed the evening meal and breakfast

The room was beautifully decorated, very clean and with all the expected amenities. There were no staff on site (the key is left in a lock box). I stayed on Monday night, the restaurant is closed on Mondays (hence no interaction with staff). Unfortunately, I did not sleep very well at all due to the loudness of a generator which kept me awake all night. It felt as if I was sleeping inside a helicopter. I left the room early in the morning because I was fed up with the noise and I had developed a headache from lack of sleep. I scored low for the Service / Staff because there was no one on site to whom I could address my concerns. This is a really nice place and the room was well kept, it is such as shame that it was not possible to get a good night's sleep.

We loved our stay at the Catherine Wheel. The room was cozy but very nice and clean. The bed was really comfortable and the staff wonderful. Breakfast was beautiful and a great start to the day. It was a good location to do day trips from and then return for a nice meal and a few drinks.
