Well presented, plenty of parking, great choice for breakfast, really good sized rooms, comfy beds, exceptionally comfy pillows-best we've ever slept on!! Could have done with a non-slip bath mat fir one room as unsteady on feet- may be available but didn't ask. The staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend and revisit.

I love old fashioned, traditional pubs & inns, and this was perfect. Wooden beams, creaky floors, etc. The staff were wonderful and very helpful. The meals were of high quality & decently priced, too, the breakfast exceptional! Plenty of parking available. I will definitely visit there again.

The room was lovely, it was spacious and very clean. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was lovely and lots to choose from and all cooked to order, we also ate there in the evenings and again the food was brilliant., there was plenty of choice. They have a big car park at the rear of the property so parking was not a problem. We would definitely stay there again

Lots of parking. The waitress at breakfast was great and couldn't do enough for me. I stayed 2 nights, 1st breakfast perfectly cooked, the 2nd breakfast not so great. Prices are about right The room was big, clean light and airy with good facilities. Definitely an above average establishment. I would definitely re visit.

Easy parking in two car parks, larger one at the rear with direct access to the bedrooms. (steps). My room was larger than average at this price point. Clean with a plentiful supply of plug sockets. Comfortable bed. Powerful shower over the bath although the toilet flush does require a certain knack to get it going. Good food, breakfast and evening meals. The staff were wonderful and helpful with always a smile. 😁

We loved our stay here: it’s in beautiful surroundings; we had a large, very comfortable room and a delicious, freshly cooked breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially at breakfast. We will find an excuse to return here! Thank you very much for a truly lovely stay.

The service was excellent, welcoming and helpful staff.The food was well presented, piping hot and delicious with plenty of choice and generous portions. The rooms were large, furnished to a high standard and very clean. We highly recommend The Down Inn.

Comfortable but disappointing food.

The hotel was OK for an overnight stay. Reasonably comfortable and clean. The carvery was rather overcooked and slightly shrivelled. Breakfast was OK but the sausages were undercooked and the coffee was undrinkable.
