Dante’s Inferno (Now with Slot Machines) If your idea of a luxury Las Vegas getaway involves paying four stars’ worth of resort fees just to experience the ambient climate of an active pizza oven, book your stay here immediately. Full disclosure, I have Multiple Sclerosis, and an extreme heat intolerance called Uhthoff’s Phenomenon. When I overheat, I go numb from head-to-toe and pass out. If it weren’t for celebrating our dear friends’ 10-year vow renewal, wild horses could not have dragged me to Vegas in the first place. Apparently, the management at this hotel caught wind of my medical condition and decided to test my biological limits as a social experiment. Let’s talk about the air conditioning—or rather, the whisper of lukewarm breath occasionally exhaled from a dusty grate near the ceiling. Calling it adequate “AC” is an insult to HVAC technology everywhere. The room was hovering somewhere between “sauna” and “slow-cooker.” If you’re looking to pay top dollar to simmer in your own sweat, get ready for a night out next to a mini-fridge, and test your body’s physiological resilience to heat stroke, book your stay today! Otherwise, pitch a tent in the Mojave Desert—at least out there, you get a breeze.

The place is nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The only issue I had was the bedroom tv would not turn off. I had to unplug it. It was quiet and relaxing. It is close enough to the strip if you want hit a casino or a show, and you don’t have to deal with the loud noise. It was a little weird to have the bath tub in the bedroom. But for couples that could be a plus.
