We had only booked the hotel within an hour of arrival to learn it was not as advertised. We were walked over to the other part of the hotel across the street by the building works manager where we learned that the actual hotel main building was close and the hotel staff and rooms were operating out of their ancillary accommodation which we would not have selected if they...

"The hotel is magnificent. The staff very guest oriented. Like going back in time with this historic gem. The breakfast each day was scrumptious. This was our second time at the Erasmus and look forward to a third when visiting the incredible city of Ghent. "

Some good points: easy location, ample free parking, and large rooms with balconies. However this hotel clearly isn’t run to the same high standards as others in the chain. The decor has bumps, scrapes and marks everywhere, and it’s not acceptable to let black mould grow in the shower. "

"Lovely staff, very helpful. Parking available at small charge. Small rooms however clean. Available meals are plus side, only minus is it's at spiral access road that is not marked too clear."
"The hotel was excellent - large, clean room with plenty of storage in a perfect location.
We did not have a car and were able to walk everywhere. We planned our stay long before we knew about the Ghent Festival but enjoyed easy access to all of the music stages and festival fun. The annual noose bearers procession passed directly in front of the hotel.
An easy walk to Gravensteen castle, St. Bavo’s cathedral, the belfry and canal cruises.

"Great check-in experience, friendly and helpful staff, clean room, great restaurant and rooftop. The only issue we had was being charged extra 47 euros when we were told they were not busy and could checkout at 2pm at no charge.

"A beautiful hotel in the heart of Ghent. We visited for the weekend and we were not disappointed. Ghent festival was on during our visit, which was an added bonus…. We will definitely be back. "Fantastic apartment /hotel. Really clean and spacious. Great facilities in the room. Very quiet inside. Breakfast quality really is outstanding and I’m no foodie usually. Parking is a bit tight for some of the ‘garage’ spaces (I have a v90) but thankfully I managed to grab on of the alternative spaces in the car park shortly after arriving. Aalst is such a nice and relaxing place with Tower Hotel being a 2 minute walk to the shopping precinct and lots of restaurants and bars. "
"Clean and looks newly furbished. Hotel staff good in english and easy to communicate with. The car park is a bit pricy at 20 euros per night but it s convenient and secure so we went for it anyway. We stayed during Ghent festival and there s performances around the city - this hotel is just 20 min walk from the happenings and is not disturbed by the noise. Would recommend."
"Perfect hotel near train station. Easy in and out for one night stay. I gave the condition of facilities a 3 star because the hallways are extremely narrow and could potentially be a fire hazard. Would not be allowed in USA. We were on first floor and felt safe enough but not sure about higher floors. "
