The staff was extremely nice, something to do everyday, beautiful view for eating

Staff very friendly. We did not get the room we reserved though. We did not have hot water. The toilet clogged. We had to ask for toilet paper twice. And many restaurants were closed or had 1-2 hour waits each night.

Check in process was lengthy, sat around for an hour while waiting for room to be ready. To be fair we also got there at about 2:30, which is before check in time. During this time we were approached by a time share sales person who was somewhat pushy. He kept trying to get us to do the timeshare presentation for the next few days whenever we would see him around the hotel. Restaurants could use a varying menu, same 5-6 entrees offered each night. Portion size was on the small side if you are used to american sized meals. It was fine for us, we are not big eaters, but some may want to be sure they order appetizer, and soup, entree, and desert in order to be filled.

Clean, cute and for the most part a friendly staff. We received a walk-out unit as an Expedia VIP member which was convenient and scenic. Now the downsides, really poor internet throughout hotel, TV pretty much non functioning due to constantly disrupted internet signals. The Air Conditioning was really noisy and we couldn’t control the temperature as the thermostat was broken and stuck on high. We went to the lobby to explain the aircon issue and they sent the maintenance guy who said yes it was a problem unit and the only way to turn it off was by turning off the circuit breaker when then left us with no cooling. The shower pressure was really low and the patio had cheap white plastic chairs and table. The Pool was much colder than the Ocean water. The Staff, however, always seemed friendly at the inside bar, front desk and the restaurant, but not friendly at the outside bar. Overall an average stay but this hotel has some work to do to. We have stayed at 3 different properties in Cozumel. Park Royal: nice room but terrible food. Hotel Cozumel: room was dated but comfortable and Good Food. El CID: The best! The room was clean and comfortable. The food was great (I always stick to fish, chicken, or pork in Mexico as a rule, no beef.) Every plate of food I had was fantastic. The service was great. Bed was comfy and the snorkeling was fantastic! I highly recommend El CID.
