Divide cabin in Rainbow Valley with kitchen and balcony
Summary:
This cozy cabin with hot tub is tucked away in the mountains just off beautiful Hwy 67 between Divide and Cripple Creek in the western foothills of Pikes Peak. The perfect place for your mountain retreat, you can enjoy a hot tub soak or a book on the deck without seeing another house from the property, but at the same time it's nestled in a quiet, established rural neighborhood. With easy access to trails and wilderness and a quick drive to restaurants, groceries and shops, Hunter's Ridge cabin is a honeymooner's or family get-away dream.

The Space:
There's a living area upstairs and a family room with television and foosball table downstairs, so the kids can watch a movie or play downstairs while you relax by the fire with a glass of wine upstairs. Stay in for a shared meal on the deck or take advantage of the plentiful options for hiking, fishing, boating, horseback riding, history, and other adventures all in close proximity to Hunter’s Ridge.

Come in the fall to view the stunning changing aspen leaves. On chilly or snowy nights, head downstairs for a round of foosball or a movie, and walk out to the outdoor hot tub on the patio. There's nothing to be compared with a soak in the hot tub while snow falls around you! The downstairs also features a family room with television and a pull out sofa bed as well as the second bedroom.

Guest Access:
You have access to the entire home and grounds. There is parking in the driveway in front of the house.

Check in is at 5pm and check out is by 10am. We do our best to accommodate early check in and/or late check out request. We offer these based upon our housekeeping team’s approval as their schedule can be demanding and for an additional fee of $25 per request. Please note, the earliest check in time available is 2pm and the latest check out time we can accommodate is noon.

The Neighborhood:
The cabin is located south of HWY 24 by about 10 minutes, literally on the slope of Pikes Peak and right next to Mueller State Park. Cripple Creek is only 20 minutes away. You are in the mountains so you will see wildlife. You may experience interrupted cell reception, so please record directions and all other information you need for your stay in advance. Wifi is available at the cabin and most guests have found it to be reliable although like anywhere bandwidth and connection reliability can vary from time to time.

Getting Around:
There are few public transportation options in the area. The cabin is in a neighborhood with dirt roads which are generally well maintained throughout the year. If you are traveling when significant snow is possible (between September and May) please be advised that depending your experience driving in winter weather, a Four Wheel Drive vehicle may be a good idea. Make sure you have the contact information for your AAA membership or insurance provider if you think you may need support.

The home is located about an hour drive from the Colorado Springs Airport and about 2 hours from the Denver Airport.

Other Things to Note:
This is bear country. Please do not leave any food outdoors or in your car. The garbage bin is located in the shed near the house. Please make sure you put trash in the bear proof bin and secure the lid. As much as possible, please keep any food trash or strong smelling trash inside the cabin until trash collection or your departure.

Mail service in the Divide will not deliver packages directly to the house. Mail can be sent to general delivery at the Divide Post Office.

No smoking or vaping of any kind is permitted inside the house. Outdoor smoking is permitted and we do not scrutinize what you smoke outside as long as you do it in keeping with house rules and local burn restrictions.

No parties, and please observe quiet hours outdoors after 10pm. Hunter's Ridge is in a quiet mountain neighborhood with full-time residents and neighbors will report loud or unsafe partying to the authorities.

Photo ID required for all reservations. Minimum age to rent this property is 25.

Application, background check, deposit & photo ID required for 30+ night stays.

Our team sets out linens appropriate to the number of people on your reservation so please make sure your reservation accurately reflects the number in your party. Be aware that we charge a $30/night fee for additional guests after 4.

The Rainbow Valley neighborhood is situated on an accessible but mountainous part of Pikes Peak where there is no municipal water supply. Thus we do pay for a truck to fill our cistern and for this reason we do ask our guests to kindly use water wisely and conservatively. The cistern holds several hundred gallons and is refilled regularly so running out of water is not a concern.

Interaction with Guests:
I love helping guests make the most of their time in our beautiful area but I give my guests their space unless I'm asked to help out. I will be available throughout your stay and love to give advice on local restaurants, attractions, and adventures.

Family Bonding
We called this beautiful, peaceful spot on the Western Slope home for a week while visiting the CO Springs area. The hot tub was very enjoyable! Our family, including a tween and a teen, made lots of memories this week! A couple things to bear in mind: At the time of booking, the listing showed a dishwasher. There is not one on this property. We also had planned for the children to be downstairs, but the pull-out couch that is functional is actually upstairs. Just good to know if you have similar plans! A few days before we checked in, we received notice about the downstairs couch as well as that the water was trucked in and to use it wisely. We did not experience any disruption, but I do feel like that should be something that is transparent in the listing from the get-go (rather than after cancellation time frames have elapsed). There is a bluray player that has the possibility for Netflix/Prime TV watching, but we struggled to have enough bandwidth to load anything. This is minor, especially if you are disconnecting anyway! We played a super-fun, tech-free game called Hit List which provided lots of entertainment without screens. Overall, we had a very enjoyable time in this rental. Our communication with Stay Colorado was timely and helpful in making our stay enjoyable. We hiked in Mueller State Park, climbed the Manitou Incline, took a Rocky Mountain food tour, rode the Cog Railway train, toured Glen Eyrie and the Pioneer Museum, saw the Florissant fossils, shopped, ate delicious food and enjoyed some local brews. There are plenty of attractions in this area for an excellent getaway!
