  • Our spacious and beautifully designed property features three sprawling decks that offer picturesque views of the shoreline, allowing you to take in the stillness of the woods and the soothing sound of water against the rocks. Bring your furry friend along and enjoy the peace and tranquility of our four acres of land, which provide ample privacy. The Lake House is perfect for unwinding and enjoying quality time with your loved ones.

    As you wake up every morning to the majestic lake views, enjoy your morning coffee on the master deck. Or, spend your evenings with your family enjoying the beautiful sunset from the covered deck—no matter the weather!

    If you need more space, the Soaring Eagle Cabin is just next door.

    Please note that climbing stairs is required to access the second-level bedroom.

    Please note: This home is remote — located 30 minutes from town and accessed via a 20-minute drive from the highway on winding gravel roads. While the drive is scenic, it may not be ideal for those seeking quick town access or smooth pavement. For many of our guests, however, this journey is part of the charm — a chance to truly get away from it all.

    Rural Environment Notice
    Our cabins are located in the beautiful woods and countryside of Brown County, Indiana. While we provide routine professional pest control and keep our homes clean and well-maintained, guests may occasionally see seasonal pests such as mice, flies, lady beetles (Asian beetles), or stink bugs — especially in the fall and spring.

    These harmless insects are part of life in a rural setting. We do everything possible to minimize their presence and appreciate your understanding as part of the authentic Brown County experience!

    PET-FRIENDLY PROPERTY: There is a $75 fee per pet. Moondance Vacation Homes proudly donates a portion to the Brown County Humane Society when you bring your pet and pay your pet fee.
    ALL EVENTS, DAY GUESTS, AND PARTIES ARE PROHIBITED WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN APPROVAL FROM PROPERTY MANAGEMENT.

    Base rate for this property is set at 2 people, each additional guest will be charged $30 per person per night.

The home was nice. Could use some more baking trays and a skillet but had nearly everything else and we could make what was there work out fine. It was fine for just the 2 of us. You really pay for the view, the decks and hot tub were delightful. We saw a bald eagle sore over midday while relaxing in the hot tub and was such a perfect spot.

Secluded and Peaceful

This home was perfect for our short getaway. We walked the trail to the lake a few times a day to watch wildlife, enjoyed the hot tub and loved seeing so many stars at night!

Fantastic!

Property was very pretty and well taken care of. This was exactly the getaway my girlfriend and I were looking for. It was very peaceful and provided us with one of the best weekends we have had in a long time. I would recommend this place to anyone and I would absolutely stay here again!

Our stay was wonderful. There were no leaves on the trees so you could see the lake clearly. The hot tub was a highlight. The binder with check in/out information needed updating, there definitely wasn't a dishwasher and the instructions for the hot tub were missing. Also, there was now place to put out luggage or clothing. No closet to hang clothes, no luggage rack to put a suitcase. If both beds had been in use, we would have had to put our clothes on the floor (nasty, it's a hygiene thing).All said, we would go back. We enjoyed the quiet and remote area.

Secluded Brown County property

Accommodations a little tight for our group. The road to civilization was winding, unpaved. (The road to Hana). Well furnished and comfortable.

Wonderful location. The loft cabin lake house was well supplied including pots and pans and I ended up overpacking after reading previous reviews. Charcoal grill was small but considering it’s not meant for a huge crowd anyways I was able to make a nice meal for family of 4. The hot tub was clean and worked well. The location was 15 minutes down a winding gravel road I was not aware of that. Very peaceful beautiful place to relax and not too far from small town shops.

Spring fishing trip.

Great location, beautiful view of Lake Monroe, and nice quiet area. I highly recommend this place because of how serene it was and they had provided everything we needed. The beds were comfy, the hot tub was nice and there was a fire pit if we wanted to have a fire. The only downside is that there is no phone coverage at the houses location for T-Mobile, Verizon, and AT&T so save the door code and wifi passcode before you start your trip there.

Mommy get away, relaxation

Birthday week, no kids, didn't watch tv at all! Shopping, hot tubbing, cards, board games, actual conversations! 6am hot tub waiting for sunrise with an uninterrupted cup of coffee...bliss!!!

Enjoyed the awesome views every direction. Cabin nicely furnished. Spectacular stars from the hot tub at night. The quiet was amazing. Place is dusty , Smeared food stains on welcome book and black chairs. We had to clean that. Moldy curtain in the funky shower. Beware of steep step at front door.

An older property but pretty well kept. Plenty of kitchen supplies and towels. Beds were comfortable. Felt like we were the first ones there for the season. All decks needed swept off, had to tear through vines to find the trail down to the lake. Lake Monroe was too high, up into the trees to try and fish but we took a few nice walks, played several games and made a few trips into town. Additional notes were left on the checkout list.

No skillets.no foil.mice and flies.poor water quality so we used up our bottled water.sloped ceilings upstairs to bonk your head.very tiny bathrooms/shower.you could see lake monroe if you squinted real hard looking thru at least a half mile of woods.very overcharged for what we got.never again!!

birthday get a way

Hidden gem! Peaceful and relaxing. Enjoyed the hot tub although felt could maybe used more chemicals.. ?? The cabin was cozy and comfortable. The kitchen could use a skillet. I'm glad we brought one as I read in another review one wasn't provided. The shower is TINY. I'm 5'6 and the shower head came up to my chest. Served it's purpose but I wasn't shaving my legs or washing my hair without difficulty. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would book again.

Great lakehouse

We had a very nice stay! This is a great house. There are a few quirks about this house, but overall we really enjoyed it. Favorite things: canoe, reclining chairs in the den, fire pit, good air conditioning units, beautiful drive to the house. Didn’t like: shower is VERY small, upstairs bedroom can’t stand up in half of it, upstairs bed was not comfortable, needed to clean outdoor table and chairs-looked very neglected. Drive to the house from the main road is about 20 min. It’s a beautiful drive! However it takes a little planning ahead. We would plan to go out once instead of coming in and out. It didn’t bother us, but it’s worth noting.
