This hotel is simply amazing! The location is fantastic, and the staff are absolutely wonderful. The service is exceptional! The room is small, but honestly, we didn’t need anything more. The bed is incredibly comfortable, the room is completely soundproof and the blackout curtains make it perfectly dark, so we had a fantastic night’s sleep. We absolutely loved our stay and would definitely stay here again next time we visit. Highly recommended!

My first negative review of my 23 day holiday. Stayed at sir adam for 5 nights, this was our very disappointing last stop. Not sure how this is a 4 star hotel. Staff when we got there were helpful, otherwise it seemed no one knew what they were doing. The discounted $26 USD breakfast was a joke: 2 small drinks, a bread basket, and one SMALL plate of your choice. I ordered pancakes, got 2 tea-cup plate size, tough pancakes. My husband got french toast - one small piece of frwnch toast bread. For $26 a person, regular non discount $28. For 4 of the 6 nights there were carts parked in the elevator hallway. There are water issues in the building, when our shower was running our sink made a lot of noise, and the sink dropped constantly. Nothing else in or directly related to he hotel was included or discounted with our stay (Adam lookout, vr place), which was really disappointing. We ordered room service from the in building restaurant (another place no one seemed to know what was going on) and only half of it arrived. We should have paid half of what we did for this. It was a place to sleep.

I've been staying at the Conservatorium regularly for 12 years now, and it is remarkably consistent: great location, awesome people, striking architecture, and the best gym of all the 5-star hotels in Amsterdam. This year, though, there was one welcome change and one not-so-great one: the breakfast has improved, with the addition of a buffet, which is convenient. But they also seem to have started letting local residents use the gym, so it's now super-packed at all hours, and you have to wait for machines. The gym has always been a big part of why I stayed there, so that's disappointing.
