The property is older but they do have some new Cottages that are pretty cool although we did not stay in them because they were more pricing. The pool was fantastic and the hot tub was really hot which was great. They had a lovely Cabana area with tables under Palm fans. They had a cute little bar area outside where you can drink mimosas BYOM. The location of the property was great hole area was great the room not so much. It did have really cute palm trees painted on the walls and seagulls flying which I liked. But it really needed some more coastal themed bedspreads and the bathtub in the room I stayed in had peeling porcelain paint coming off everywhere which I hated. It wasn't a bad property though I really think it would be cute if they took a neon light and ran it all the way around the property to make it look more retro. Each gram had their own little Texas themed chair and table right outside of their room which I thought was pretty cool as well. All in all I would stay there again as long as they gave me a room where the bathtub was it peeling because that really really bothered me.

The price was right. Only issues in the room were hairs in the bed linens and tub area, dirty corner of the room where the plugs are, only 1 roll of toilet paper/no toilet paper holder. Not a big deal as long as it stayed dry. And i'm not even complaining because I wasn't expecting much for what I paid. After camping on the beach the night before and waking up dirty and sore to a fierce little beach storm, the $50 room with mostly good reviews seemed like an excellent place to count my mystery bruises and regroup. I will remember how good that shower felt for the rest of my life, I'm sure. The room was huge, mostly clean, it was quiet at night, seemed safe, parking was right by the door to the room, property well maintained overall. I expected to see a waterbug/wood roach being in an older building and semi-rainy September weather on an island, but I didn't see any. I wish there had been a way to brew coffee. The motel has scant amenities. Again, you get what you pay for; somewhere clean and safe to sleep and bathe. The mini fridge, microwave, and flat screen TV with Direct TV were a bonus. I should've tried out the pool but i didn't make it that far. It looked inviting. If you want free ice, maid service, coffe maker, hair dryer, iron, continentel breakfast every day, etc., then you'll want to be spending twice as much or more at one of the big chain hotels on the island.
