Going in early spring those flowers haven't bloomed yet so I was a little disappointed but understood. The closeness of all the houses was neat however you have to drive a bit to find gas and food if you don't make a reservation at the Water Wheel. Living in a city this was a big change for me. The Croft room said "mountain view" on hotels.com but it just looked out onto the post office and the main house. On the inn's website it advertised a wood fireplace (which was a selling point for us) but it was actually gas. The heat in the house that Croft and other rooms are in is central, so you can't control the heat from your room. You're supposed to text a number to have them change it but I didn't want to get in a thermometer war with the other guests... One of the biggest turnoffs was the toilet - it is situated so you can't sit straight on it without your knees hitting a radiator box. They should consider renovating this. The shower could also use an update - it was pretty grody. Also not outlets available by the bedside on either side - pretty annoying. Breakfast was brought to the room, which was nice, but it was very basic and didn't seem homemade for the most part - mini breakfast burrito (seemed similar to the frozen ones you can buy in bulk), bulk muffins, vanilla sweetened yogurt with granola, OJ, coffee. Again the overall setting is beautiful, I just wouldn't stay in this particular room and would be careful to study the pictures of the other rooms, especially the bathroom.
