The entire stay was incredible

Old, rustic English inn with great charm. Room was clean enough, though rather dark, and bed was comfortable. No refrigerator, which really is a must when traveling. Had to request one, which didn't arrive until the next day. The breakfast was exceptional for an American hotel. Fresh berries and other fruit, homemade berry coffee cake, real eggs, and many other wonderful choices. Ice water available all day to refill your water bottles. The tavern had excellent drinks and food. The large sitting area had a gentleman playing the piano. Very enjoyable. We walked to Forest Park and the free St. Louis Zoo inside the park. Only complaints are parking fee, and there was a tornado warning during the evening while we were in our room for the night and no one answered at the front desk. We weren't given any instructions as to what to do in case of such an emergency, which is probably common for the area. Luckily, the tornado disappeared before reaching St. Louis.

The stay here was lovely! Very clean, recently renovated, and safe. The only bummer was that breakfast ended at 9am (this is advertised in multiple places, but we missed it). We would definitely stay here again and recommend to family and friends.

The color thing is interesting, but I would have appreciated more attention to some basics. For example, when I went to turn the TV off, it turned out there were no batteries in the remote control. There were no instructions on the phone that explained how to reach the front desk. There were no USB outlets to I had to find a store that sold AC adapters so I could charge my devices. Also a 4 PM check-in seems really late and I'm convinced that made me wait 20 minutes for no reason. Beyond that, it's cute and comfortable and lots of art to explore.

Not as good as it once was, but good enough once for a good price! Hilton Cookies and Decent Breakfast. Nice Staff. Quiet Location.
