Clean and nicely decorated property close to everything. Staff is very helpful and friendly. Activities for the family. Linen exchange on Tuesday’s is nice. Appliances are great. Lots of cooking supplies. Shower takes a little time to learn how to use and I would suggest better pillows as the ones we had were pretty flat.

Islander Stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Islander is a great place to stay. We love its location and it’s off the main highway so you don’t have to get out into traffic. We use the grills a lot during our stay and this is one of the main reasons we choose The Islander. This year marks the 15th year we’ve stayed at The Islander!

This was our third time staying at The Islander. This was the first time that we stayed in an upper floor unit that was hosted by the Islander themselves. Contact with Ari in the office was very easy. She was very helpful in communication went well. We definitely yes recommend the Islander as a place to stay. We enjoy the amenities, including the pool and Pickleball/tennis courts. And easy access to the beautiful Gulf waters. This unit had beautiful views from the main bedroom. It was clean and comfortable. It suited our needs. It may be a little tight for six guests since they have to use the pullout sofa, but it worked out fine. We will definitely keep the Islander as a place to return to.

A few improvements

Rating Details: The property manager was more than helpful. The vacation rental was very clean. I was more than happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The unit was adequate and beds were firm which is different from our experience last year at a nearby unit. I thought the linens could be updated as Sheets in MBR were kind of old as was top cover. There were no directions for the TV which required Kendall from the Islander to assist The MBR shower was too complicated to use (no information provided) and the pressure was not goodWe had to use the other shower and while pressure was better bathtub/shower etc has not been updated

Destin Vacation

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our first vacation in Destin since up till now we were staying in Panama City Beach. This condo here at The Islander was much more spacious and very well-kept compared to what we had experienced until now. We really liked the gated private parking and how the exterior grounds and pool area was kept extremely clean. The staff was also very professional and helpful. We really liked the location of the condo and the beach was not as crowded as we anticipated. I would encourage anyone who is wanting to book a vacation in Destin to check out The Islander because I think you will be very pleased with your stay.

Delight at the Islander condo 517

Condo 517 far exceeded my expectations. The view of the sunset each evening out my balcony was exceptional. The master bathroom, laundry options and Kitchen facilities were excellent. My brother and wife were suppose to join me, but illness prevented them from traveling. Other family members stayed in another unit. I am excited about reserving for next year; I will explore this option for the future.

We even had to extend our stay by a few days because of weather back home & they helped us do that. This was a great place to stay!!

Would Stay Again!

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Unit 517 was excellent, as was the whole Islander Resort. The unit was clean and comfortable. It was great having the washer/dryer in the unit to do laundry in the evening without leaving our room. The shower in the master bedroom was very nice. The walk down to the beach was easy and not too far. The staff was pleasant and professional. I like the resort's location being off the main thoroughfare; it seemed to be in a nice and quiet neighborhood. We did have an issue on the first night that was beyond management's control as it was caused by other guests. I only bring this up to brag on the staff who quickly took care of a very difficult situation, and the rest of our stay was without issue. The guests in the neighboring unit were extremely loud and causing a disturbance, but they seemed to be an a-typical guess as the rest of the stay was quiet and peaceful.

Dirty unit

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was very dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Unit 517 was not cleaned properly after previous renters. Sheets were not changed, there was sand all over the bed and floor. There was a stain on the bed sheets and missing sheets in second bedroom. There was a dirty wet rag in the shower. Floors had popcorn and hair all over them. There was couple of dirt plates in the cabinet. The ac vents had dust bunnies hanging out of them. I feel like this unit was never cleaned fully. They come in straighten the beds to make it look like it was cleaned and say they cleaned it. On top of all that this is during the pandamic when they are supposed to be doing extra cleaning to help stop the spread of COVID. The Islander is a very nice place, I've stayed there before few years back and did not have any issues at all with my room. The staff was very apologetic and came up to my room right away to bring me new sheets, but I did have to change them myself. The next morning they sent in someone to clean the apartment. The location and privet beach is amazing, I would like to come back and stay here again hopefully they will replace their cleaning crew by then.

Nice stay

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was more than satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The decor was very nice overall. There is a need to deep clean the furniture or maybe re-cover it. If the cable doesn’t work or the drains don’t drain, call downstairs. They will help you. Only real negative was the dryer takes 3 hours to dry one medium load of laundry (no exaggeration). The kitchen has better pans/etc. than any other condo here. The view is amazing with the boats coming in and out. Don’t forget to watch the Thursday night fireworks from the balcony!!
