"The hotel is a wonderful old building that has been lovingly maintained. Our room was fine, everything was clean, tidy and worked and we got what we paid for. The restaurant was excellent. It had grandeur, it was flooded with light, offered views over the Tay, drink and food options were very good and reasonably priced. While there was no car park, one across the road offered reasonable rates and was convenient. The Discovery and V&A are a 5 min walk and are excellent. Why not a 5* rating? Like...

"Excellent value accommodation just outside Dundee. Checked in at the bar, the staff were friendly and helpful and showed us to the room. The room was in an external motel style block. The room was quite basic but was clean and everything worked. OK. For the money it does the job perfectly and we would definitely return."

"The hotel is very tired and needs a complete refurbishment. When I booked seven months in advance I had requested a room on the 2nd floor, partly as there is no lift, however our room allocated was on the 3rd floor with no option to change. At the time of our stay in August 2023 there is NO wifi available."
