"Matera is truly an astonishing place. The apartment worked really well for us as the walk to the Sassi was interesting, not too far yet in a much quieter part of the city. Antonieta was very responsive to our various questions and it’s very easy to arrive in and leave Matera from this location. We parked our Caron the street for free and left it there during our stay."

"The property is in a great location on the edge of the historic old town with views just outside of the valley and caves as well as the historic church of San Pietro Caveoso with the Casa Grotta. Breakfast was very good also. Just bear in mind that the property is in the city restricted zone so we had to park around 0.5 miles away and walk with our bags - would have been good if the property description mentioned this as well as pointing out where you can park. Maters is a fantastic little place...

"Nun ja. Als wir vor etwa 12 Jahren schon im Albergo Italia genächtigt haben waren wir begeistert. Die riesige Terrasse der King Suite (Zi 115) mit Blick über die Sassi hat uns begeistert. Man hat sich damals gut vorstellen können, dass Mel Gibson während der Dreharbeiten zur „Passion Christi“ hier gewohnt hat. Aber Matera hat sich verändert. Unzählige Privatzimmer und B&B‘s sind entstanden und man kann sich bei dieser Auswahl heute kaum noch vorstellen, dass sich jemand mehr als nur eine Nacht...

"Wonderful place to spend a couple of days in Matera. Really enjoyed having the wonderful large terrace to sit and have a drink early evening and later when the town is all lit up. Delicious breakfast in cave and very friendly staff! Highly recommend"
