while the weather was beyond anyone’s control, I had such a cozy stay and was perfect for the R&R that I needed. The grounds, the room and the entire property was so delightful though there were other guests. I don’t think I saw even one! It was truly so lovely in the rooms. Liked location. Would have appreciated a map to designate the walkways up to the shops near the Savoy Palace. Easy walk and lots of options.

Our stay here totally exceeded expectations! The grounds are gorgeous and the room was enormous compared to the other hotels we stayed at in Lisbon and Porto. The staff were incredibly sweet and accommodating. The kitchenette in the room was such a welcome surprise. We were able to cook a nice dinner one evening that we enjoyed on the patio overlooking downtown Funchal. Definitely hit the breakfast for 12 euros at least once. It was charming and delicious.

2 week stay. 2nd visit. Upgraded to balcony rooms facing the mountains with water view. Never gets tiring.

The staff was helpful in answering questions and making recommendations regarding all things related to the island. The breakfast staff was exceptionally friendly. Room was comfortable and clean and kitchen utilities in the room were much appreciated.

Wonderful spot in Santana with great views, wonderful pool and hot tub set up, and an incredibly friendly staff who really make it amazing.
