"We spent 3 nights at Sa’Moana and had a fantastic time. The staff were wonderful - attentive but not overbearing, and a pleasure to chat to and get to know. The setting by the beach is beautiful, and the rooms are well spaced out along the coast, interspersed with palm trees which gives them a very private feel. Kayaks and paddle boards can be used at any time, and there is a beautiful lagoon nearby to explore. The property also has a small but well equipped gym. Overall a great find and one we...

"We booked for 9 nights but stayed only 3.
Staying in a fale on the beach at faofao became intolerable without respite from the relentless pounding of the ocean on the reef especially at night. Swimming or just sitting in the water to escape the heat was impossible with the tide almost reaching the fale. No TV at all and no Internet access in the fale. Internet also turned off. Obliged to sit in uncomfortable eating area for Internet access. No respite from bright security lights. Toilet bowl cracked, had to ask for toilet paper and no attempt made to clean the showers. Same orange paper in middle shower. Roaming cats and dogs. My husband was attacked by a black and tan dog at the toilets. Faofao is in the middle of nowhere and tourists are charged exorbitant rates for transport like 250 tala from the airport. We specially drove there before our stay to find out what we needed to bring and fortunately took canned food, water and soft drinks. Although the very oily breakfast is included in the price dinner would have cost 35 tala per person. This place is unwelcoming and unfriendly and the environment leaves a lot to be desired. My sincere regret is that the booking was non refundable. "
"Breakfast was good. I paid for my Expedia reservation at the hotel but was charged an additional 4% for credit card fees (which adds up when you are paying for two rooms for several nights). The rooms were nice but had poor air ventilation so there was always a mouldy smell before the aircon was turned on. Unfortunately, out of the 5 days I stayed, the hot water only worked sporadically and I had to have cold showers on 3 nights. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. "
"Buffet breakfasts were great. Rooms were clean. Our rooms were in a construction area of the resort. A few staff were happy and cheerful but many seemed down and intolerant of guests (we experienced a few staff members snatch menus from us after we ordered and expressing attitude towards us for just ordering drinks (without food) for afternoon tea). The meals and drinks are quite expensive and in smaller portions when compared to other resorts in Samoa. Our room had a TV and DVD player that didn't work and wasn't fixed during our stay (even after asking reception). We had some extra meals added on our tab when checking out (luckily reception sorted this out with us). The resort is close to the Sua Trench and Turtle Island. "
"While the location is stunning, we were overall disappointed with the condition of the property - it's hard to believe it is only 15 years old. Two of the four air-conditioning units in our villa were not functional on arrival, and one had to be repaired twice over our two-night stay. In addition, many of the air-conditioning units outside had exposed electrical wiring, which is extremely hazardous and would be fatal if a young child touched the wiring. On alerting the resort to this, they did attend to it, but it would appear it had been like this for a long time, indicating an overall lack of attention to basic health and safety. Our unit had obviously at one time had smoke alarms installed, but these had been removed and so there were no functioning smoke alarms in our villa.
We booked through Expedia, and were quoted in NZD but the resort converted the quoted NZD price to WST at rate that was above market rates, in their favour, so we ended up paying considerably more than the quoted price.
The staff were friendly, courteous and helpful."
"We enjoyed staying here. Very peaceful. Excellent fiafia night. Jumping off the jetty and swimming in the pool. Close to Togitogiga waterfall. Just 30 mins into Apia. Room was spacious and comfortable. A tiny bit dated. Staff were frirndly and helpful. The grounds are very idyllic."
"Breakfast was good, they had a lot of items to pick from so if you don’t like some of the items I’m sure you will like the others. My fav was the fried rice, sausage, & passion fruit. The bar was really good! Drinks were amazing & the sushi was my fav. We did try many items like fish & chips, pot stickers, burger, pizza & poke bowl. The poke bowl was also really good & refreshing because it was hot out there. We will definitely be staying there again whenever we go back to Samoa. "
