"Incredible place, with amazing views of Fitz Roy and glaciers. Small and cozy with very attentive staff and superlative food. There are no TVs or internet which I think it’s a plus. There are plenty of hiking trails that can be accessed directly from the property. The road to the lake is about 37 km from El Chalten and it’s not the easiest drive. A 15 minute boat ride then takes you to the lodge. "

I travel extensively for work and the service provided by the entire staff made me feel like I was staying with family and friends. "Alta Traful wastes the opportunity it has to provide guests with an experience as unique as the lake it is situated upon. The room was basic and bathroom (tiny sized) had taps either leaking or falling of. Parking is not enforced so vehicles were parked irregularly making it difficult to park our own — I took a photo & asked reception to get the truck moved but she did nothing. I would recommend staying at the cabanas located next to it (towards the Village) coz it’s absolutely not worth the...
