"This gite is a superb location, for biking, hiking or visiting the enormous amount of local history. The gite itself is excellently maintained, lots of space, great amenities and wonderful bedrooms. Everything was clean and well presented, large lounge / diner / kitchen with great views of the lands around and the wonderful wildlife, birds were plentiful. Historic sites to see are the Atlantic Wall Museum, the Roman Museum, the Battle of Nieuport (1600) fought on the beach and sand dunes. There is the Flanders Museum and the Menin Gate both in Ypres (Ieper). Highly recommend this gite. The hosts were very friendly and helpful with the questions we had. The small village has an excellent little deli selling fresh bread, meats, pates, cheeses as well as a range of grocery items, beers, wines etc. There is a large Carrefour in Diksmuide where the Trench of Death from World War One can also be visited, a superbly sobering place."
