It was a unique renovated mill...modern and clean. We loved the cafe on the first floor. The staff at cafe were very friendly. Didn't love the ironing board in the hallway. We would definitely stay there again.

The Mill Inn is one of the most refreshing stays I have had in quite some time. The rooms have been refurbished into little studio apartments, and everything you could possibly expect from an Inn is there, right down to toe corkscrew, just in case you may need one. They have thought of everything! Comforts galore! Luxurious bedding, continuous hot water for showering, adorable decor, and easy-in, easy-out. And the Mill Cafe downstairs is also amazing. Cozy spots with gorgeous plants growing everywhere, soft jazz music, delicious coffee and pastry, Bloody Mary's with Bacon, YUM, I can't say enough about this lovely spot. I wish there were a Mill Inn wherever I need to travel to. Honestly, you will not be disappointed!

Check in process failed epically. Fortunately, a resident in an adjacent building was able to contact the owner and get access for us. We are so thankful that he approached us to help. No check-in email with access code was sent nor did the owner try contacting us after we made repeated attempts to contact for entry. Very disappointing with the process. Rooms are located over the cafe and all cafe noises vibrate through the warehouse rooms and is exceptionally loud when sleeping at 6am!

This has to be one of my favorite hotel stays of all time! Fantastic room and unbelievable customer service. Had a bit of an issue on my end which was accommodated by management with care and swiftness I have never experienced. Angie saved our entire weekend!

Our room was very comfortable and large. The restaurant downstairs is excellent although it has limited hours. I can't review the staff because there is no visible staff. Check in is by text. The only drawback is there is NO elevator and all rooms are on the second floor.

Room was freezing with no ability to adjust temperature! There’s no one here, so you get a text for entering the building and room! Paid for a partial river view which was not true! Room was clean, comfortable and located in the heart of town, but there is no amenities and no staff if you require assistance other than a number to call!

This immaculate hotel lets you love Maine

The room was tidy and overlooked the river. Falling asleep to the sound of water rushing over the old mill dam was very special. The restaurant below the hotel had the best coffee and espresso in Maine. No hyperbole. The best. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant over the weekend. It is a “you get what is fresh and in season” menu with a few decisions for the guest to customize. People may unfairly consider this restrictive whereas we thought it highly pragmatic and forward thinking. If there’s only a few wines, it’s because they are good. If there’s only a few options on main courses, also good. The service and food was excellent overall. In terms of hotel experiences, we enjoyed the self service entry and checkout. No lines, final bills, awkward barriers in or out. There are a lot of hidden gems in Maine, and people ramble about culinary experiences that punch above their weight class. Our experience was a nuanced, sensory joy just being around salt of the earth locals and a weekend getaway that firmly cemented itself as just a time when everything felt right. We’ve done a lot of Michelin dining, and sometimes the se donner de grands airs (putting on airs) is cloistering and decimates mirth and the quiet smiles of a thing done consistently well because it’s the right way to live. This experience lets you love Maine.
