The Hotel was great. Big clean comfy room. Didn't get to use the pool. To cold this time of year. The hot tub was unavailable too. The gym was available but I didn't check it out. The girl who checked me in was very personable and friendly. Very polite and welcoming. A couple other employees greeted me in the hallway. Nice people. The neighbor hood seemed sketchy and I was a little worried about my car but it was fine the next morning. There were a lot of cars in the parking lot. I would stay there again if I needed to. Nice place for the money.

If you like vintage then this is the place for you. Very clean and location was great!

They didn’t just hand over my key; they offered recommendations, asked about my preferences, and made sure I knew they were available for anything I might need.It was clear the hospitality here runs deep. Every staff member I encountered, from the bellhop to housekeeping, greeted me with a smile and remembered little details from previous conversations. It’s a small thing, but it makes you feel at home, not just like another guest passing through.The highlight, though, was the in-room dining. I ordered dinner after a packed day, and it arrived quickly—beautifully plated and piping hot. The staff member who delivered it was upbeat, courteous, and made sure everything was just right. The food itself was restaurant-quality: fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Even the little touches, like a handwritten note on my dessert plate, showed the team goes above and beyond.By the time I checked out, I genuinely didn’t want to leave. The Kempton Hotel somehow manages to make every guest feel like a VIP, thanks to an amazing team who clearly care about what they do. I can’t recommend this place enough—if you’re looking for a hotel in Sacramento that gets all the details right, this is it.

⭐⭐☆☆☆ The only strong point of TownePlace Suites near Cal Expo is the convenient location. Unfortunately, the property feels outdated and my room (3108) was messy. The shower backsplash was cracked, the toilet paper holder misaligned, and the carpet worn. I emailed photos to the front desk manager, Alison, as requested, but never received a response. There was also a false fire alarm one night. Overall, there is significant room for improvement in both maintenance and customer service.
