Enjoy a tranquil getaway to this cozy 2BR guest cottage in the Animas Valley. Located off of the picturesque County Road 250, just minutes away from the Durango Hot Springs Resort & Spa, PJ’s Gourmet Market, and Dalton Ranch Golf Club. A short 10 minute drive to Durango and 20 minutes to Purgatory Resort.
Recently renovated two story guesthouse with king bedroom upstairs and queen downstairs. Bathroom with a shower, well equipped kitchen, laundry on premises, and cozy pellet stove.
Living Areas:
The living room includes a sectional sofa, two bean bag chairs, a pellet wood stove, and a large television with Roku for streaming. There is also a Bluetooth speaker to play music and a variety of games for adults and kids to enjoy.
The kitchen is fully stocked with a refrigerator, electric stove, plenty of pots, pans, and cooking utensils, dishwasher, microwave, Oxo drip coffee maker, blender, mixer, electric kettle, toaster, wine glasses, and a cocktail kit.
Bedrooms:
The upstairs bedroom has a king bed as well as a roll out twin that is stored in the closet for extra sleeping space if needed. From the upstairs bedroom enjoy views of the beautiful Animas Valley. There is a small seating area upstairs for a quiet reading corner to relax.
The downstairs bedroom features a queen bed.
Both of the bedrooms include Helix foam mattresses, plenty of pillows, closets with hangers and dressers with ample storage, luggage racks, lamps, and USB ports on the night stands. There are new mini-split air conditioning units for the bedrooms to ensure the temperatur is comfortable. Additional space heaters and fans are also available.
Bathroom:
The full bathroom is newly renovated with a step-in shower (there is a small step up into the shower).
Outdoors:
There is a propane fire pit area with great views of the valley and excellent star gazing at night for guests to enjoy. There is a propane grill and full set of grilling accessories.
The property is shared with the main house which is a separate home. The guesthouse is close to the main house but we are typically in the backyard when we are outside.
You may see our chickens roaming around occasionally (Baby Baby Lollipop, Thumbelina, and Queenie) and our neighbor has peacocks/peahens that occasionally make an appearance. You may also hear cows in the valley and see elk congregating on the valley floor at certain times of the year.
Guest Access:
Guests have private access to the guest house, outdoor area in front of the guest house, and guest house parking area.
Other Notes:
There is high speed complimentary WiFi for guests.
There is parking dedicated to the guesthouse with room for two vehicles. If there will be more vehicles or abnormally large vehicles please let us know so we can see how we can accommodate them.
The stairs to the upstairs bedroom are steep and should be avoided if guests have mobility issues. There are baby gates that can be put up in the unit to keep small children off the stairs.
There is a security camera monitoring the driveway in front of main house.
Pets:
We allow 1 dog, less than 50 lbs, per stay with a $100 pet deposit. Please reach out with questions.
