Reception staff did nothing to help clarify this, indeed adding to this confusion for a short while. The accommodation was not as described. Which is really my main gripe. I have nothing against under-par, or budget accommodation, but it helps forward planning, to get what is expected from a description. In our...

The Aberdeen Dyce Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Warm welcome as always, home from home"

Station Hotel Aberdeen

8/10 Good

"Room was okay, floorboards very squeaky but it is an old building. Furniture was dated. Comfortable beds but mattress protector and actual duvet were stained. Bathroom tired and appeared to look like cigarette burns on the bath. Good shower. Breakfast was good with plenty of choice. Staff were helpful enough but looked like they were short staffed at times. Great location."

Malmaison Aberdeen

8/10 Good

"This is an excellent example of a Malmaison, it’s such a lovely hotel. The bar and restaurant are super. Food is always spot on and the cocktails are always wonderfully made. We’ve stayed many times and always love the rooms, which are nicely appointed and a generous size. This time it was a little tired, sockets broken, curtains marked, windows broken, nothing major but just needs a bit more attention to detail. Bathroom was clean enough, but there was makeup on the tiles above the sink and marks on tiles elsewhere that just needed a bit more attention."

Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel

10/10 Excellent

"Another great stay. Great central location as we were at His Majesty's Theatre. It was a stormy weekend so the quick heating radiators were very much appreciated. The floorboards in our room were very squeaky in some parts and the walls were fairly thin, but it's an old beautiful building so it's to be expected. The lounge area is being refurbished so looking forward to seeing that on a future trip."
