Once part of a historic coastal hotel, Cornerstone Cottage Acadia is a 100+ year-old retreat where charm and character linger in every detail. Uneven wooden floors whisper the stories of footsteps long past, while open windows invite in the salty ocean air. Though there is no air conditioning, the cottage rests beneath a canopy of shade, and fans are thoughtfully placed to keep the rooms cool and breezy. In winter, the indoor wood-burning stove adds warmth and romance, creating a cozy year-round escape. Perfectly situated for those searching for cottages in Bar Harbor or Acadia vacation rentals, this is a place to slow down, relax, and become part of the story.

The Space:
* Bedrooms & Living Areas: Charm-filled, comfortable spaces with uneven wooden floors and cozy furnishings. Bedrooms will be revitalized in 2026 by an interior designer whose work evokes beauty and emotion.
* Kitchen & Dining: Full kitchen with large range of cooking spices, lobster pot, slow cooker, blender, hand mixer, and wine fridge. Drip coffee maker, French press, and pour-over available. Tea and coffee provided.
* Entertainment & Work: Smart TV with Hulu Live, ESPN+, Disney+, Bluetooth Bose speakers, WiFi perfect for working remotely, and a digital guest book with local recommendations.
* Outdoor Living: Waterfront with private shore access and mooring buoy, covered porch, gas grill, fire pit (firewood and roasting sticks provided), large yard with yard games.

Perfect spring get-away

The cottage was just what we’d hoped for and more. Beautiful accommodations and you cannot beat the view and huge yard. We loved the fire pit for smores, walking down to look at rocks along the waters edge, and looking out at the ocean during meals from the dining room table. We couldn’t be happier with our experience and would highly recommend it!

Great getaway near Acadia

We had a wonderful time, the cottage has a beautiful view of mt desert island, the host was incredibly kind and communicative, and the property was very clean and accommodating. Plenty to do both at the cottage and at the park, I hope to make it back soon!

The house was amazing! Everything is perfect from the beautiful lawn and view of the ocean to the cozy bedrooms and spacious kitchen and den area. Jenny is absolutely a joy to work with! I can’t recommend the house enough!

This property was absolutely lovely! The attention to detail in the decor and amenities was incredible, Jenny really thought of everything. The view from the front lawn was stunning and really showed the awesome beauty of this part of Maine. We would definitely come back!

Loved this precious cottage. So comfy and homey. The setting was beautiful on the lake. The best place to relax and feel at peace. The cottage was so clean and had all the amenities. The amenities surpassed my expectations. Jenny is the best host. I hope to be there again one day!!

Family’s First Trip to Maine

Our family loved our first vacation to Maine so much that we are planning our visit to come again next year. The cottage was even more beautiful than I imagined with comfortable beds, beautiful views and the perfect location to visit Acadia. Our children are in their 20’s and loved Jenny’s recommendations in the digital guidebook for hikes in the park, sailing, restaurants and also enjoyed bonfires at the cottage, kayaking, games at night and big breakfasts in the kitchen each morning. Jenny is the best host and has put so much love into this cottage to make it special for guests. This was a gem of a find!

Beautiful setting, immaculate condition

I felt like I walked into a new home. The house has four bedrooms and two baths at the end of the hall - all on the second floor. The first floor has spacious living space. The backyard is large; it is great for family games. The view from the backyard is breathtaking. The host cares about the house and her guests.

Amazing stay at Cornerstone

We had an amazing week stay at Cornerstone Cottage. The house was meticulously clean and every detail had been thought through and planned. All linens and kitchen tools and basic supplies were provided. We loved waking up to the view and coastal breeze. It was a great place to get away from the craziness of MDI but yet be close enough to see all the sights. We loved Jenny's recommendations for MDI and enjoyed all that we were able to do. We spent quite a bit of time sitting on the deck watching the boats and birds. Perfect location and perfect house provided a great basis for a great family vacation. Can not say enough great things.

We LOVE Cornerstone Cottage

I absolutely love this property. It's my second time back at the cottage. The setting is beautiful. The house is clean, functional, and a perfect place to stay with a larger group. I went with my husband, son, sister and her family, and parents. We loved checking out Acadia and the local state park and beach nearby. Jenny really tries to make her guests' stay special. Her online guidebook is awesome and she is one of those hosts who responds to your messages FAST. I would reserve another week at Cornerstone today if I could! :)

This is the one!

My biggest issue with writing a review on this property will be trying to condense it. There are so many amazing things, it’s hard to know where to even start.Jenny is the most gracious host and is amazing at keeping in contact. She has thought through every possible need an amenity that a renter could want or need. Sometimes when you look at a picture on these listings, you wonder if it’s too good to be true. Let me assure you that as amazing as these pictures are they don’t even come close to the true beauty of the property. The location, views, and accommodations are simply perfect. I appreciate organization. Jenny’s digital guestbook and her amazing communication left no questions to me as to what needed to be done and where I should go. Her referrals for places to visit are spot on.I truly cannot imagine anything that could have been different to make our visit any better other than just being able to stay longer.Do not hesitate- book Cornerstone Cottage. If we are ever back in the area, it will be my first choice every time.

Beautiful Home Great Location!

Everything about this cottage is perfect and so well done! More than enough space for 2 families of three. All the pots, pans, utensils, appliances and gadgets you need in the kitchen. Beautifully updated bathrooms, super comfortable beds. Owners really did think of everything. Loved hanging out on the porch every evening on the rockers. Our kids (9 and 10 years old) enjoyed the large yard as well as heading down to the water everyday and exploring. Also spent a lot of time down the road at Lamoine Beach Park (just a short walk away) where they could wander around and play. Great location all around. Owner was super responsive on any questions I had from the start of booking all the way through. Really loved our stay at Cornerstone!

Eclipsed all expectations!

We had never been to Maine, and decided to visit during the total solar eclipse. After looking at many homes, we chose Jenny's beautiful home in Lamoine. Leading up to our stay, Jenny kept in touch and told us about an approaching Nor'easter storm, and gave us the option to arrive a few days later or continue as planned. We decided to be adventurous and continue with our trip. She made sure we had plenty of firewood and electric lights in case of a power outage. We ended up never losing power and had a two day winter wonderland at the house! The house had EVERYTHING! Bluetooth speaker, cooler, blue ice, spices, oils, lobster pot, etc. It was all there! And we can't say enough about the incredibly comfortable mattresses on the beds! We all slept like babies! The views from the property, the comfortable furnishings, and the fantastic communication from Jenny made our trip to see the eclipse magnificent! HIGHLY recommend this property on your next trip to Maine!

Lovely, welcoming and well appointed cottage with a view that invokes inner peace. The deer visited each morning and the Lemoine Beach was perfect for walks and kayak launches. It was an easy drive to Bar Harbor too. We had the best family vacation with our adult children. We would be back every year if we could!!

Simply Beautiful

Our family gathered here to celebrate my retirement and it was the perfect place for us. The cottage is lovely, inside and out, and the location is perfect - close enough to all the sites and far enough away to enjoy peace and quiet. We spent lots of time on the beach in front of the house and just down the road at Lamoine beach. The house has just about everything you need…I do recommend bringing some paper plates since no one wants to do dishes! We loved sitting on the porch in the mornings to watch the wildlife (deer, raccoons, squirrels) and to watch the lobster boats coming and going. You’ll appreciate the tide clock in the house so you’ll know when to visit the beaches to look for shells, rocks and sea glass. Jenny was a wonderful host and incredibly responsive when we had one challenge during our stay. Her quick action saved the day! (Our thanks to Joe and Ami, too!) We were so sad to leave and hope to return some day soon!

Perfect Stay on the quieter side of Bar Harbor

Our stay at this house was absolute perfection--away from the bustle of the touristy Bar Harbor but close enough to enjoy all the restaurants and activities in Acadia-- enjoyed the sunrise on the water daily from our own backyard. The house was clean, comfortable and had everything you would need: comfy beds, fully equipped kitchen, plenty of outdoor seating, fire pit, yard games... they thought of everything! Host Jenny very accommodating and checked in to make sure all was ok-- we are already planning our return next year. Loved it.

Cornerstone had everything we needed and was everything we had hoped for! Beautiful views, just enough space for everyone to be comfortable, great outdoor space, and host is amazing. The beds were comfortable (this is a MUST) and the bathrooms were stocked and ready!
