“Wilton Castle was lovely to visit. We had the "Butler" Suite which was a full size apartment with luxury furnishings. Sean the owner was very knowledgeable and gave us a bit of history about the Castle. Weddings also happened here with the beautiful backdrop of the river it is very picturesque. The only drawback was the was no Bar or Restaurant on the location, we had to go into town for our dinner. ”
“This house is beautiful and immaculate and the owner had thought of everything for all ages from high chairs and travel cots to a shower seat in the walk-in shower. The location was ideal to so many places. The owner is lovely and was quick to resolve any issues. Unfortunately the house itself seems to be the only part of the property that has been renovated and what will be a lovely fairy garden, replete with waterfalls, was marred by construction rubbish. The car paths were awful to drive. I……
“We arrived four hours to our check in time and they graciously let us check in. The breakfast is an endless array of breakfast delicacies in a clean, quaint dining room. We had Serena and Fean as our servers our first night. Kind, friendly and very patient. And they make amazing flat whites. Please take advantage of this property if you are visiting this area ☘️🇮🇪”
“Excellent hotel - rooms are big, clean and beds very comfortable. Reception on duty (Krystyna) was fantastic - extremely warm welcome, friendly and helpful. A real credit to the hotel. Unfortunately both the quality of food and the service in restaurant were not as high as in previous stays. Very slow service - drinks took an age to arrive - requested condiments never did arrive. Food wasn't great - despite being told pizzas were thin base they weren't - thick and doughy and not nice. Could……
“The beautiful Irish countryside has so much to offer. When this is combined with the love for nature that the host Mary shares with you and staying in one of the shepherds huts all conditions for a perfect stay are there. Guidance to nice walks and places to see are part of the warm welcoming to Blackstairs Shepherds Hut.
We enjoyed the quietness, a walk along the river Barrow and having dinner in the nearby town Borris.”
“Alles sauber und modern. Gute Toiletten und Duschen. Gut ausgestattete Küche und schöner Speisesaal. Pubs in direkter Nähe. Sicheres Zugangssystem. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. ”
“This is a lovely hotel with really friendly staff who made us very welcome during our stay. It is an older building, which has its pros and cons - quirky and full of character, though the bathroom area in our room was on the small side. The location is lovely, very close to the waterfront with good views, but the town and its amenities are on the other side of quite a long bridge. Would recommend overall.”
“Lovely old house inside a castle ruin. In same family for over 100 years, and a lot of care and attention to detail. The best breakfast ever. And so quiet and peaceful as it is not in a town, but only a 5-10 minute drive to Wexford.”
“Total gem and worth going a bit off the beaten path. Wonderfully renovated and welcoming spaces. On a cool night there were small fires in the fireplaces in the lobby and in the restaurant. The dinner at the restaurant was the best of our trip, and the included breakfast in the morning was also fabulous. Walkable little town with several historical points of interest, a Friday morning farmers market, and lots of locals at Joyces pub and bakery. We wished we had booked for more than one night. ”
