From Fayette, it's roughly 60 miles (97 kilometers) to the south to Cedar Rapids - Iowa City and 85 miles (137 kilometers) to the south to Iowa City.
For a more thorough experience of Northeast Iowa, take to the road and discover the diverse settlements in the area of Fayette. Independence, is 25 miles (40 kilometers) to the north, and New Hampton can be found 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the southeast.
Approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) to the north of Fayette is Decorah, an important regional center where you'll find Upper Iowa Speedway, Laura Ingalls Wilder Park and Museum and Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum.
