DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL. There was a drunk or stoned individual sitting on the staircase by the front door when we drove in. (See attached photo.) When I walked into the lobby (which was a mess and smelled), a young woman had been waiting for nearly half an hour for a receptionist to show up. I pressed the buzzer repeatedly. No response from any staff member. The young lady who had been waiting told me she had stayed at this hotel before and said it was terrible. She strongly recommended that I find another hotel. My wife refused to have us check in because it looked and felt unsafe. We found another hotel nearby. When I called Raj, the manager of this place, he was rude, dismissed my story, said I would be charged for the stay, and hung up on me. He claimed that there was no one at the front desk because "they were serving other customers." If Raj responds to this post, he will likely lie about what happened. There are safer, better-run facilities just around the corner. Do not waste your money or your time at this dump in Old Saybrook. I intend to contact Geoffrey Billotti, the President and CEO of Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, directly to let him know that this Super 8 franchisee is ruining his company's reputation.
